Malone XI versus Garven XI
At CWBCC Stadium

As the sun came up the Malone XI came down in a disappointing effort. Lezama and Scott disappeared quickly back to the pavilion courtesy of some good bowling by ever present green quick Bryce Cunningham. This brought the young and old together with season 11 rookie Justin Rodgie and last season stalwart Rob Malone both nudged the ball around with the occasional four till Malone disappered having had his stumps taken out it was then a few overs later Rodgie's turn when CW Spinner Tom Halsey trapped Rodgie plumb LBW. It was all up to Cowan,Rohrer and Corrin to deliver but all 3 failed with the top score for the rest of the innings being Cowan's 20. Top performances were delivered with the ball by spinner Halsey and skipper Garven picking up 3 and 4 respectively. 137 was not the most ideal total in this situation.

Could Cameron repeat his FC heroics? Not so was the answer in what proved a match winning partnership in which skipper and rookie put on 126 of which Garven compiled 59 and Hogarth 69, Garven XI reached the target 2 down for 138 a very convincing victory.

Malone XI 10/137

J.R Rodgie 40, R.J Malone 35, T.C Halsey 4/26, A.J Garven 3/18

Garven XI 2/138

D.D Hogarth 69, AJ Garven 59

Garven XI won by 8 wickets

Man of the Match : A.J Garven

Pleased to have gotten some runs in the FC game, and also to have taken a wicket in the OD game. :)

terrible...the key is to not loose early wickets i guess, we just never recovered from that.
