Super Eight

My respect for the Irish team has certainly gone up after yesterday's game, they are a bunch of hard-working blokes who try to stick to the basics of the game. They have limited talent and skill but they have shown great character and determination so far in this WC and shown the world they are no pushovers.

Really looking forward to seeing Australia vs Bangladesh tonight, hopefully Gilly gets a decent score and keeps me entertained. Bangladesh will really need to step up their game though, Shahriar Nafees has been in very poor form in this tournament and they need him to score runs if they are to have any chance.

Australia v/s Bangladesh

In today's game i expect Aussies to give a professional performance but they shouldn't take Bangladesh any lightly compared to any other team in the Super 8's stages.

Cardiff debacle might still be there in Ricky's mind so probably he won't make the mistake of taking Bangladesh lightly.

i dont think they are limited in talent either...they have been producing some talented players...they are limited in experience but not much in talent...anyways hope that proved the haters that they belong there...but i guess there's still going to be some people who'll still complain...but to the rest they proved they belong there...

They aren't taking them any lightly...and that works against bangladesh....

well i really am not looking forward to it...because i think bangladesh will just get trashed a lot...its nothing to do with bangladesh but everything to do with australia...they been trashing all the teams so far...so i really fear for bangaldesh...but still have little hope for them like i did for ireland(which they didn't do bad either)

I expect some records to be broken ....possibly first individual score of 200 in ODIs or Team score record ....Fastest 100 or 50....

For Bangladesh's sake I hope they give a good account of themselves by atleast lasting the Full 50 overs .

what are you trying to put them down or something? because they aren't that much behind some of these teams here and the only reason im fearing for them is because its australia who's been beating on everyone anyways...if it was someother team tomorrow they would still have gotten a beating...so im just hoping one more beating doesn't have...but to say 200 individual is just trying to put bangladesh down...it doesn't matter if they last 50 overs or not just give a competitve performance...which other teams will have a hard time doing so too...

The Bangers aren't a bad outfit but Australia are awesome at the moment - Australia in this sort of mood should post a massive 300+ score if batting first.

The key for Bangladesh is to take wickets right throughout the innings - that is the only way you can stop Australia. 3/120 off 23 overs for example is not good enough if you can't stop a partnership from developing.

I think if a side is to beat Australia this WC they need to smash their bowling (which can be done) or get them 3/4 down in the first 10-15 overs (it will take either Malinga or Bond to do so).

Honestly, I don't think Bangladesh are going to be able to win. I just want them to play well.

They are a bunch of hard working Australians and South Africans (who unable to get selected for their own countries have used some loop holes to form an Irish Team) with a couple of Irishmen and have managed to succesfully knockout an established Test playing Nation (Pakistan) and gone where the largest nation in the Cricketing World has been denied... the Irony really annoys me more than anything if you ask me...

you should find out the facts before talking crap...only four of the players are overseas players...you should read this http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/wc2007/content/story/287886.html
and that isn't any different than pietersen playing for england or symonds playing for australia...read the article...this really annoys me more than when people whine about india getting out because of the format...the "biggest teams" are out because they aren't good enough...i didn't know cricket depended on them...the most of teams in this tournament field home grown players bar canada...get the facts...and just for the fact...all of days star for ireland were irishmen...they have been producing some good players...with "englands" ed joyce being the best so far...

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing Tamim v Tait... it could be really fun.
Fair point actually, if Tait is loose early on then I can see Tamim really slaying him through cover and point. However I think that Bangladesh will struggle with the kind of pace that Tait has if he gets the ball on target at the stumps.

I'm looking forward to watching Glenn McGrath walking back to his mark vigorously shaking his head after being slapped for his 4th 4 in a row by one of their teenagers
