BT Cup 5

Beat Clapo easily, annoying thing being Canning's failure at number 3. That guy just cannot bat in the top order.

Clapo's XI 89 (35.5)
Appleyard 23 (27), Savage 10* (40), Taylor 8 (16)
Fernando 3/26 (5), Erasmus 2/6 (5), Tedstone 2/16 (5)

Magical Ponies 3/91 (18.1)
Kilkenny 40* (67), Canning 26 (23), Tedstone 13 (14)
Groves 1/14 (4.1), Meyer 1/22 (5)

Clapo's XI Magical Ponies
Top Order: mediocre proficient
Middle Order: respectable competent
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: respectable strong
Spin Bowling: useless proficient
Fielding: woeful woeful
MOTM: Kilkenny

Tedstone also went badly at the top of the order. It's annoying, two of my three best batsmen, and neither of them score at all when in the top 3.

Well Played :)

Dissappointed i couldn't manage to make 100 though :( especially given that Savage, a worth/worth batsmen, survived more deliveries than my all of my Specialist bats, and only 2 made double figures. Groves & Meyer bowled well enough it seems, shame they didn't have a target to bowl at though. Given that Canning & Tedstone went relatively cheaply another 70-80 runs might've given me a slight chance.

Classic cup match between Halsey and Geg

And that's the end of the match. Halsey's Sloggers won by 1 wickets.
Tawonga Tigers 313-4
Halsey's Sloggers 314-9

Code:
End of Over 50: 314-9, runrate=6.28
Bennie 9-0-61-5
Laws* 2 (2 balls)
 0 (1 balls)

49.5 1 Bennie to Laws
Played away onto the leg side.
49.4 b1 Bennie to Mpumelele
Plays and misses, and Ghandi just fails to get his hands on it. The ball trickles off for one bye.
49.3 W Bennie to Shackell
After some obvious confusion by Shackell, he realizes its the death rattle and the umpire sends him off. Now we wait for Ghandi to find the bails..
49.2 1 Bennie to Laws
Driven to the left of mid on and Siyabonga makes a leaping stop. Good fielding as he ran ten yards before throwing himself full stretch to grab the ball.
49.1 W Bennie to Breedt
No footwork from Breedt, big nick through to Ghandi. Breedt walks without waiting for the umpire's finger.

End of Over 49: 311-7, runrate=6.35, reqrunrate=3.00 (313-4)
Mills 10-0-60-4
Breedt* 2 (2 balls)
Shackell 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Bruce b. Mills 0 (FOW: 311/7)

48.6 W Mills to Bruce
A lovely slower ball from Mills has made Bruce look like a proper buffoon. He played at that about a week early.
48.5 W Mills to Stonebridge
The ball struck Stonebridge in line and after a moment to consider where the ball pitched, the umpire raised the finger. Out!
48.5 nb1 Mills to Breedt
no ball, Forward, played out to mid on for the single.
48.4 1 Mills to Stonebridge
Flicked around to the region of deep backward square for the single.
48.3 1 Mills to Breedt
Solid stroke down to long on.
48.2 W Mills to Connor
Edged and gone. He's walked before the umpire has raised his finger. That was a beauty.
48.1 1 Mills to Stonebridge
Quick running and an easy single is taken.

End of Over 48: 306-4, runrate=6.38, reqrunrate=4.00 (313-4)
Bennie 9-0-59-3
Stonebridge* 133 (139 balls)
Connor 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Ricketts c. Ghandi b. Bennie 4 (FOW: 306/4)

47.6 W Bennie to Ricketts
There's a loud appeal from both Bennie and Ghandi. Ricketts is suggesting that it flicked his shirt but the umpire sends him on his way.
47.5 4 Bennie to Ricketts
Fantastic shot . Upper cut over the keeper, audacious!
47.4 W Bennie to Parr
If Parr had two bats, he wouldn't have gotten to that. Mischief and mayhem from Bennie there.
Haha, lost 8/10 at the end there. Ah well, I still won - just. :)

Well played Geg.

Some fair ratings there for Scaly. I have to admitt im actually not to disappointed with the loss. Bowlers did pretty well in the end to keep them under 350 and I was very happy with Quintin knock to help us get over 100.

Unlucky mate, was mildly surprised at the nature of the win but I'll take it.

I thought I had a chance their. Mccammon and Allen were in and i needed 23 runs off 2 overs. Then suddenly I lose 5 wickets in a row and now needing 23 off one over.

lol, its sad, scaly. henshaw used to be pretty awesome. he was a part of the side that reached the cup semis in season 4. he has 157 wickets @ 18.60 for his career. things haven't run as smoothly for him in recent seasons as age has caught up with him.

not sure how it happened, but pup has set whenuapai a target of 233. should be picked off easily. fry and lennon set to open the innings today. superstar batsmen jason duggan batting down at number 4 today. hard to see us being beaten on a flat pitch, but then again, we did lose to a bot on one occasion. who knows what battrick will throw at me today?

Going to be a huge set of matches in our group. If i win, and Dynamo Mopork knock off Magical Ponies, we will have a 3 way tie on 2 wins 1 loss, and seeing that we're both favourites, it may be interesting to see who goes through.
