Here here, warnings are coming out next time if it continues Fiery.
Oh, you don't have to do that James. I was prepared to let it go...ok, well you can give pasag a warning for being a whiney b'arch but don't worry too much about thierry henry, he generally takes things in good humour despite his arrogance

Do you really have to attack other members? Even when I address you directly saying don't?

That's a warning.

cricket has some of the most boring commentators ever. they need an upgrade...like international soccer or the nba.
I agree re boring. I'd like to mix it up a bit. To do that you need to have a range of commentary styles and backgrounds. Channel 9 has all ex players - I think they need some professinal commentators in there as well to give a bit of balance.

Agree that Ian Healy is not great, but Mark Taylor is equally irritating. Not insightful or funny. The ABC radio commentary is much better IMO.

OK, back on topic.

So far, the Sky commentary team seams to be:

Pool A - Mark Nicholas, Damien Fleming, Greg Blewett, Darryl Cullinan, Barry Richards
Pool B -
Pool C - Michael Atherton, Mark Richardson (and Nasser Hussein, David Gower etc i suppose
Pool D - Michael Holding, Jeffrey Dujon, Ian Bishop, Tony Crozier, Ramiz Raja, Mpumelelo Mbangwa

Pretty peeved that Richardson is commentating in Group C :(
And obviously Mark Nicholas is viewed as an Australian commentator now

Thanks for the info.

The Sky commentating has been pretty ordinary imo. What happened to Grieg and Benaud? Those guys make cricket so much fun to watch. Richards and Holding are good. Cozier is good for the historical stuff, but he seems to be getting senile (mistaking some players from ones of 10 years ago :)). Blewett, Flemming, Atherton?? These guys are awful. I do agree that they need a mix of professional commentators along with ex players. Just look at pro basketball, where the best commentators are the pros, not ex players.

I think the commentators have been a bit mixed, some I've really considered to be quite poor while others have been surprisingly good or entertaining.

Nasser Hussain really surprised me, during the 2005 Ashes tour I thought he was really dull but he's been good, particularly in stints with Mark Richardson. They've been making fun of themselves (particularly their slow batting when they played) and it's been quite good to listen to.

Botham's been good too. Don't rate Fleming though.

Haven't even noticed the quality of commentary, I suppose that is an indication of how poor it is and how we've become used to substandard commentary. It doesn't worry me too much anymore, except for Rameez Raja, he has to be one of the worst out there at the moment. Feels as if he has to analyse every single ball.

I think the quality of commentary so far has been really poor, i mean for such a big tournament like the WC you expect better commentrators to take up the job but they just seem to missing from the scene.

I expect the standard of commentary to improve during the Super 8's, because i can't take anymore of Blewett,Fleming, and Cullinan because they simply suck.

I know this opinion isn't a fairly popular one on CW, but imo, Mark Nicholas is easily the best commentator at the World Cup. By a wide margin as well, for mine.

He's OK apart from when he excessively dotes over certain players, usually from Australia.

He should just proclaim his undying love for Player X and get over it (or him!).
