Was Brad Hodge the right player to be dropped?? Judging on Watson and Hussey's lacking of performance it seems illogical that a player to score 120 in the last match gets the chop. Then again, he got axed from the test team after a 200, so it probably isn't that big of a deal...

You think they should have dropped Hussey?? And if Hodge had had to bowl Watson's overs, SA would have got the runs!

What did Watson do wrong? I'm far from a fan of his, but can't see how he could be targeted for abuse this match.

And Hussey >>>>>>>>>>>>> Hodge.

Yeah, averaging 60 with the bat over an extended period pales in comparison to scoring a ton against Holland.

I didn't think he should have been dropped from the test side when it happened, but his ODI dropping isn't that harsh IMO. He can probably count himself lucky that he got so many chances after failing to get to 10 so many times in a row early on...

Whats with the honorary citizen thing? I missed that.
The Prime Minister of St.Kitts and Nevis (population 28,000) has granted honorary citizenship to Herschelle Gibbs (for the record 6 sixes in 1 over) and Mathew Hayden (fastest 100 in World Cup) for putting St. Kitts and Warner park, St.Kitts into the record books.

They were both given Citizenship Certificates at the end of the match.

I expect the two players to make the West Indies Team for 2011 World Cup .

His bowling has been substandard since his return. Hasn't really impressed me. Loves bowling long hops.

Of course Hussey shouldn't have been dropped! He's averaging an excellent 3.67 so far in this world cup!

Basically the whole Irish team has been batting better. O.o

What a time to be out of form.

I think they were scared that Symonds wouldn't last through any overs he was needed to bowl and wanted Watson there as cover. Hodge's form last match would have got him over the line otherwise i would have thought. That said Watson did a pretty good job with the bat so you cant critisise the selectors too much for it.

Lol at calling for Hussey to be dropped. The guy comes in with a couple of overs left and is forced to hit a quick 6 or two and when he gets out, people say "He's averaging an excellent 3.67 so far in this world cup!". **** me, seriously. One wonders whether people watch before they comment. And typical Melbourne bias shining through again around here.

Hogg comes in last few overs to hit a quick six or two. Reaches 40 off 15 balls.
Hussey hasn't been firing like he usually does. 3 matches in a row.
Hodge was on fantastic form. Poor Hodge.

But then again Australia just has to many great players to be content with keeping the ones who are on form, and the ones who are generally the worlds finest.
