*Official* English Football Season 2006-07

Lifeless football. When it became clear that Israel were not going to come out and play, why did we stroll around at the back for most of the game? Why did Lennon not give a chance to run down the right? Why did we once again to resort to lumping balls into Rooney and Johnson on the edge of the area?

This is going to become more and more of a problem. For most of these teams, a qualifier against England is just about the biggest game they will ever play - everyone wants to beat England, so everyone raises their game to play us. They then play for the 0-0 or breakaway 1-0, as they should do. Israel defended very well today. But nowadays the lesser nations are much better organised and disciplined, so they are difficult to break down. Unless we are prepared to give the ball to the two genuine creative players on the pitch today - Rooney and Lennon - we will get nowhere.

The match against Andorra on Wednesday will do us no good, either.

Bit rich coming from a Scot.

Anyway, didn't watch the match, but I can't say as the result was a surprise. Beginning to run out of patience with McClaren.
I want the last 2 hours of my life back. That was absolute turd, absolute turd. Awful awful awful.

Meaningless, I'll change my avatar to whatever you choose for 3 months if Scotland actually qualify.

No, because Scotland are still dire bar the odd decent performance (and who was IMO the main reason behind your recent "resurgence", Walter Smith, has now gone anyway).
Scotland are no brilliant team but they sure as hell give they're all in every game and try there hardest with passion and drive, something which our English counterparts lack...8-).The Scottish national team IMO is on the up.Wonder where England are going?.To Barcelona against Andorra for a good 0-0.

Never denied England are a bunch of overpaid louts.

Problem is, while Scotland do try hard and all that, they simply aren't very good, until you prove that you can put in the type of performances such as the one against France with any regularity.
