Hmm hope the deluge of rain doesn't make the toss vitally important again. Pitches have been generally getting better (batting-wise) in my opinion so I'm hopeful that it won't make the wicket slow, two-paced and generally awkward early on. New ball will move around anyway I suppose.

And we can now confirm the game will start at 11.30. 35 measly minutes to wait, fans, and then we'll be up and running. So long as it doesn't rain, of course...hang in there. Meanwhile, here is the England team

Ed Joyce, Michael Vaughan (capt), Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff, Ravi Bopara, Paul Nixon (wk), Sajid Mahmood, James Anderson, Monty Panesar
43 overs a-side I believe

So in comes Mahmood. "Saj has been bowling well in the nets," says Vaughan, "and his extra pace is something we want to have a look at. He's got a few tricks up his sleeve."

At work earlier today (over a few post work beers) my bravado got the better of me.

I said I would give this months pay cheque to charity if Kenya beat England.

Not even a bet where I can win something from.

My wifes response, "You do realise you have 2 children to support don't you?"

I said to an Irish manager in my work that I shall dye my hair green should Ireland beat us at this WC. Nothing in that for me either

Much is being made of Flintoff's apparent peppering of Vaughan in the nets the other day after it was rumoured Vaughan, his captain, was the man behind Flintoff's sacking as vice-captain. And the fines. That net session must've been excellent viewing
Interesting...

Where is everybody today? I know SA-Aus is on, but I thought there'd be some English folk in this thread. Why am I even asking this? I'm the only one here. Stop talking to yourself GIMH, you weirdo

4.5 Anderson to Shah, OUT, gone! Well, Shah should've come forward there. Back in his crease, the ball kept low and he just couldn't get his bat down in time
RD Shah b Anderson 4 (11b 0x4 0x6) SR: 36.36

Afraid not, we don't do Rupert Murdoch in my house.
Shame. I have 7 more days of Sky Sports. Moving house next week and can't afford the sports channels anymore. I have a feeling my mother will be seeing a lot of me between then and April 28...

Goughy, what's the track like?

That was pretty much the reason I stopped having it. I would sit in my attic all day and just watch cricket from 11 until whenever, and nobody would see anything of me throughout the day.
