Most Boring World Cup Ever?

Be honest ...its a personal thing with you isn't it ? I mean, it must be. Your disdain for New Zealand is painfully obvious to all and due to this your arguments lose any creditibility. Did a New Zealand girl cause you heartbreak or something ?
I really wish these Kiwis would realise that it's not just New Zealand.

Not just New Zealand maybe, but predominantly NZ

Name another side Scaly treats with such unfair disdain on such a consistent basis?

Anyone who's not England. You just haven't noticed it, because I've rarely seen you post outside a thread that involves New Zealand.

You've forgotten the old days and his utterly pathetic patronising comments about South Africa?

You've made you point Richard, maybe it's time to put the Scaly-bashing to bed old son. He doesn't even bother to respond to you most of the time so don't know why you continue with this, especially now you're a staff member.

Another day, another pointless go at me and these are the only ones I see quoted. Time to take this to James.

I'm merely responding to what others have said, there's no "bashing" involved.

Too late, 'fraid, already been discussed.

Oh, yeah - was certainly far from pointless. And you'd do well to look in the mirror before making such accusations.

Nonsense. The chances of matching 1992 or 1999 are already slim-to-zero.
what like the chances of Bangladesh beating india, or Ireland beating Pakistan:laugh:

We are only a sixth of the way through the tournament, how do you know what is going to happen in the final five sixths. So far the group stages of this WC have blown 2003 out of thwe water, I dont remember the 1999 group stage being particularly exciting to be honest, and the 1992 one was basically just one Super 8s tournament anyway, and so cant really be compared to this one yet.

The way i see it, even if B'desh do get through (and if they do it will be on merit), and Ireland get through (again on merit), I think it could make competition even more fierce in the Super8s. No team will want to slip up against the 'minnows', and it will make the games against the 'big' teams mean even more!!!

I think Richard you need to start realising that cricket matches arent won on reputation, they are won by playing out in the middle. If India go out, then thats what they deserve, pakistan deserved to go out of the tournament in the first round, Ireland or Zimbabwe deserve to go get through if they do.

No, they don't. I think you need to start realising that just because something comes to you doesn't neccessarily mean you deserve it. Ireland don't deserve to go through to the Super Eight because Pakistan played about as badly as they've ever played, completely regardless of ANYTHING.

Equally, if Bangladesh go though, there's a good chance they'll deserve it and India will deserve to go out, because that's the way the cookie happens to have crumbled on this occasion.

I also think if you're holding-out for such hopes in the Super Eights you're clutching at straws and trying to make the best of everything - but we'll see.

Ireland won the game against Pakistan and tied against Zimbabwe. Nothing 'came' to them. They went out and played - and won.

Against 2 rabbles of sides. Playing better than either did not take much.
beleive it or not, to win a two horse race, you only need to do better than the opponent..that is the goal of all teams in a game of cricket.

Ireland outplayed Pakistan, and did what they had to do to get a tie vs Zimababwe.

I am sure your ideal WC would be to take the two best sides in the world and have a one off final to decide the World Champions. Fortunately, most people enjoy seeing the underdog outperform a major team (as long as the major team isnt the one you support!!).

I am sure the whole concept of competitive sport has slipped past you
