Yip.

The 2st BIG GAME of the tournament. I think Vettori and Patel will play a big role.

Lucky for me the game starts at 10.30pm here. Feel sorry for all you guys who gotta wait up til 2.30am  Well, at least day light savings ends soon
I'll be watching every minute despite the fact I'm playing tomorrow. I'll just make myself comfortable and doze if I have to. What brought/took you to Japan KiWiNiNjA?

The games between the top 8 in the group stage should effectively be taken as super 8 games, since they'll carry forward the points. This game is as crucial for NZ and Eng as any in the super 8.

Study mate. 3rd year of an Economics Degree.

Yeah, I suppose this is basically a Super 8 match as the points do carry over.

OK, good for you...but why Japan? You can get good Economics degrees here in NZ can't you?
I was doing a Joint BBS/BA majoring in Economics and Japanese. So I applied for a scholarship to do an Economics degree in Japanese :D

Back to the cricket. Fingers crossed it doesnt rain. Anybody know about rest days etc?

Fair enough. Having a good experience in Japan? Must have been a huge culture shock.

No such thing as rest days in this WC I believe.

England V/S New Zealand

Finally i would get to see a good game(atleast i am hopefull), but the injury problems for both England and New Zealand don't seem to end Jamie Anderson and Maca have both been ruled out of today's odi.

I hope Plunkett does well i was really touched by his gesture (that he was/is willing to give one of his kidney's to his dad which could very well have ended his cricketing career).

Don't post information which is untrue, both have not been ruled out. Fulton and McMillan have been cleared, and Anderson's inclusion will be discussed in the morning.

Might need to sleep before the game, though I'm tempted to watch the highlights of one of the "greatest WC matches of all time" at 11:00pm, Zimb vs Ireland.

PY said somewhere that we do have reserve days, but the umpires are encouraged not to use them

Yes and no. Getting a bit sick of the place tbh. Although it still has its good points. Not really culture shock as i had been of during, and straight after High School.

Only 4 hrs to go.... *rubs hands...looks in fridge, disappointed*
Might have to stock up the fridge with cold beverages myself. 4 consecutive days drink  Back to my old alcoholic self

Thats the term i was looking for. Reserve day. If they do get used i wonder how.
