Six Nations

We did ok, Catty was crucial in both tries & I thought Corry had a great game in the engine room. Geraghty made a hell of an impact too. I bet the Micks are savage they let him slip through their hands.

France just didn't show up today, shocking effort from a slam-chasing team.

Wtf are they talking about. If Wilkinson is fit he is playing. It is as simple as that. Davies is talking blx. You don't leave out the best 10 in the world for a 20 year old who made one break.

Lol @ everyone asking whether Flood, Wilkinson or that other bloke (can't spell his second name), should play if Wilkinson is fit. It's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned, Wilkinson any day Good on England though, top performace, although the French were dire.

Only in certain quarters. I think most reasonable English fans (there's a few of us) would say Carter is his superior by some distance. Jonny's principle asset is his place-kicking, which is still the best in the world (MHO). It wasn't crucial today, but Flood missed a couple of kicks I'd have backed Wilko to make.

You also have to say that we held our own up front today, which we singularly failed to do against Ireland. It's hard for any 10 playing behind a retreating pack & getting slow ball.

Wilkinson to start if he's fully fit for me, with Catty @ 2nd 5/8th. Farrell hasn't worked; it's time to move on.

Yeah, Wilko can run, and can make immense tackles, but Carter is just a better runner, passer and generally better on the ball. When kicking, I'd back Johnny any day, best in the world, and one of the best ever.

Carter > Wilkinson as an all round player easily, but Wilkinson is the best at slapping it through the posts in the world.

Being honest though, there's no one in any position that is > than Dan Carter, Wilkinson is the next best thing, he's a definte whenever he's fit.

When you say that, do you mean that there isn't a flanker or a full back who isn't so much better than anyone else in the world as Carter, ie, more dominant?

I mean that Luke Carter is the best rugby player around at the moment.

McCaw comes close, but Cater shades it for me, maybe just because he's in a position to influence the game more and get's more coverage.

This Luke Carter better than Daniel, is he? Related at all? :p

Seriously tho, NZ would miss them both equally, but there are probably better replacements available to them for Carter than McCaw. This new lad Brett playing for The Crusaders whilst Carter tops up his pedicure looks the business & there's also guys like Evans, Gopperth & McAllister who'd be starting for most countries.

I was thinking about McCaw being the best forward in international at the moment tbh.
Doubt too many would argue on current form. He can be nullifed on occasion tho, as in the 2003 semi when Australia effectively double-teamed him by playing Smith & Waugh.

At this moment now, it would probably be O'Connell, but that's only because the 6 Nations has been on, and no other internationals.

Gopperth isn't at the level of the others, and McAlister is more of a 12, but I'm seriously excited about the potential of Brett, and Evans is back in his best form already after an injury break.

Nah, he's been better in the last couple of games, but was actually quite ordinary (by his standards) against Wales & France. He hasn't even been Ireland's best forward, actually: step forward David Wallace.
