Yeah, it's over now:

Code:
36.3 W	Groves to Munroe
That has been bowled beautifully. It held it's line and just found the outside of the bat. Taylor didn't have to move to take that one.
Although....

Code:
37.6 6	Walton to De beer
YOWZER! That one has gone a long long way!
37.5 1	Walton to Jephcott
Just a short arm jab, back past the bowler for one.
37.4 6	Walton to Jephcott
Whack! Walton tosses up an easy full toss and Jephcott bludgeons it back over his head for six.
But nah, will lose. Don't have much batting to come. Heads can hold his own but isn't great and from then on it's bowlers. Sambrook is med but he's really only good for 20 runs max. It's all up to these guys from here.

Code:
End of Over 38: 184-3, runrate=4.84, reqrunrate=5.08 (244-10)
Walton 9-0-49-0
Jephcott*	88 (114 balls)
De beer 7 (6 balls)

As if you shouldn't win that, five an over for 12 overs with 7 wickets in hand.

OK start against Tharmi, H+F pitch though.

End of Over 11: 63-0, runrate=5.73
Dowdall 1-0-4-0
Malik* 33 (29 balls)
Ashton 29 (37 balls)

This isn't real life though. Got stuff all batting coming and 5 of them are bowlers (ie. not all-rounders)

And it's over:

Code:
40.1 W	Verhoeven to Jephcott
That must be out! Yes! Jephcott shouldered arms but the ball nipped back from outside off and hit him just below the knee roll. The umpire had no hesitation and Jephcott must be kicking himself!
Code:
40.4 W	Verhoeven to De beer
De beer never saw that one coming!
Yep.

Code:
41.4 W	Savage to Coulson
The keeper couldn't reach that one, but first slip certainly did.
41.3 W	Savage to Hodge
Hodge flicks the ball to backward square leg; well that's what I think he was trying to do. However Hodge misjudged the ball from Savage and was caught by backward point. The umpire's finger was up the second it landed in the safe hands of Meyer.
41.2 W	Savage to Heads
He plays all around a straight one and is plumb in front.
Haha.

Love Canning. Unlucky to yet again miss out on a century.

Just on a side note, I've had no luck at all with my openers recently. What level of aggression do you guys put yours on?

I don't have the money for one that's reasonable and I don't have 6 nets available to make one. Bit of a tough one, really.
You could replace Vidulka with a bowling all rounder with respectable/competent batting, in the mean time. Those type of bowling all rounder don't cost much more then just a specialist bowler.

Besides, if you're going to buy an allrounder your current fifth bowler will be redundant, so you can sell him as well.

Haha im started to get pretty smashed here, 350 to 400 on the cards here:

End of Over 25: 158-0, runrate=6.32
Muralitharan 3-0-18-0
Malik* 71 (78 balls)
Ashton 84 (73 balls)

Think I'll probably end up with less than 330, BT rarely gives 100+ in the last 10 overs. If your good batsmen stay in you should be able to get 70+ runs off each of my competent bowlers, so it'll depend on whether or not Crawford and Baird take early wickets.

Edit: Malik out for 84, probably a good thing as he was starting to slow down a bit. Cuss in, hundred up for Ashton.

Well done Mate Canning was a big difference and that 5th wicket partnership was vitally important for you. Paris and Coates bemused me

Well Adam was pretty close they got 3/328 off their 50. I can't see us chasing that down, especially with the defensive tactics most my batsmen are on. Hopefully a couple guys get in and score some big runs. I'll be happy with anything around 200 to 250.

End of Over 50: 328-3, runrate=6.56
Muralitharan 10-0-72-1
Cuss* 61 (49 balls)
Baird 29 (16 balls)

I'll be surprised if you don't reach 250 really, I've only got one good bowler in Crawford. Baird is only strong/med, and the other three are competents with crap secondaries, and one of them is in worthless form. Only way you won't get a decent total is if Crawford picks up a few wickets in his opening spell.

Yeah I could do that, but there's little point in wasting time with stop-gap players IMO, especially when I'm going to be in V for at least another season or two whether I like it or not. I'm pretty sure I'm going to sit on the money I got for Viduka and let it build up, and buy a gun in a season or so.

Besides, if you're going to buy an allrounder your current fifth bowler will be redundant, so you can sell him as well.
I just sold my 5th bowler, and a resp-feeb RM with feeb stamina isn't going to sell for much.

Adamc

Cricketer Of The Year
Didn't realise you'd already sold your fifth bowler.

Think Tharmi's got this match pretty much stitched up. My competents predictable going for 8 runs per over and Crawford not doing much better.

End of Over 27: 165-1, runrate=6.11, reqrunrate=7.13 (328-3)
Mackie 4-0-29-0
Lucas* 74 (72 balls)
Obeysekera 66 (77 balls)
Last Wicket: Clayton c. Ashton b. Crawford 17 (FOW: 20/1)

Edit: Crawford just got Lucas though.

Bobisback

Lost to Py, set 227 and they chased it easily, with Wikus taking the only 3 wickets. I got Strong top order though, so im happy about that. But wierd i didnt get it 2 weeks ago when i GFI'd.

Code:

Middle Order: mediocre competent
Lower Order: worthless worthless

Oh good, they've changed the ITS page. Trev might actually be able to pull someone better than mediocre now.

Going down to the wire, looks firmly in Tharmi's favour after a particularly bad over from Mackie.

End of Over 44: 287-3, runrate=6.52, reqrunrate=7.00 (328-3)
Mackie 7-0-61-0
Quintin* 76 (47 balls)
Ellis 12 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Obeysekera lbw b. Baird 93 (FOW: 252/3)

Had a fairly dull friendly win today over a random today. Racked up 362-3, centuries for Umar and Rhodes, and then they got to 306-5, with a fairly average-looking guy scoring a hundred.

And that's the end of the match. Jaffna Jets won by 7 wickets.
Asterix XI 328-3
Jaffna Jets 329-3
Code:
	       [B]Jaffna Jets Asterix XI[/B]
Top Order: respectable remarkable
Middle Order: respectable competent
Lower Order: abysmal worthless
Seam Bowling: respectable proficient
Spin Bowling: respectable feeble
Fielding: woeful woeful
Good match. My ratings were OK but I was never going to win on a H+F with three bowlers missing.
