I really did hope he'd announce his retirement from all game-forms - except maybe T20Ints - in the exact same way as McGrath. Ashes last Tests, WC last ODIs.

But maybe not. :(

Maybe he doesn't want the distraction.

I'd just really like to see Haddin in at 7 and Watson in opening... even in the current team. I know it's sacrilidge to say drop Gilchrist and I know you can't because he's a proven match winner. It just looks a better team somehow.

IMO, Ashes 09 seems to be the stage where Gilly wants to bid goodbye, because he has said that he wants to play odi's and test even after the WC, so since he has already expressed his reservations towards the 20-twenty games so i really can't see him sticking around just to play in the 20-twenty WC.

If Gilchrist is still worth a place in Australia's Test team in 2009 I'll eat my computer.

And I'm sure Brad Haddin would feel like doing the same, too...

Kenya appear to have taken 71 off the last five overs.

Bangladesh recovering and seemingly cruising now; Zimbabwe two down for squat. Surely even they can't lose to Bermuda...?

Hmmm these pitches are 250 sort of pitches from the look of it. I don't think much spectacular will happen in terms of scoring the largest total this year. Kenya looks a class above the other associates and probably should deserve test status more than any other team.

None of the associates deserve Test status right now. Hell, people are only now starting to accept Bangladesh! And even that is slight. Why would anyone even consider giving another underprepared nation a chance at Test cricket?

I'm sure everyone knows where to get these scores but I'll post them anyway:

Canada v Ireland
Canada 115 all out (32.5 overs)
Ireland 116-3 (26.5 overs)

Bermuda v Zimbabwe
Bermuda 136 all out (50.0 overs)
Zimbabwe 82-3 (20.0 overs)

Bangladesh v Scotland
Scotland 152-9 (50.0 overs)
Bangladesh 108-3 (25 overs)

Kenya v Netherlands
Kenya 274-8 (50.0 overs)
The Netherlands

'The Rock' just took that 3rd wicket for Bermuda.

Still delicately poised:

Kenya 274-8 (50.0 overs)
The Netherlands 200-3 (41.0 overs)

It now has:

Kenya 274-8 (50.0 overs)
The Netherlands 233-4 (46.0 overs)
