I wish to appeal the ranking of Marc Robbins as a B.

As a player with 77 ODIs and 15 Tests it seems logical that he is an A.

Especially given his domestic OD stats last year
MJ Robbins - 32 wickets @ 17.94 (CW Red)- The 3rd most wickets in Dev League

Im leaving FC out of it as I (Goughy) didnt play FC last season and if Mr. Robbins wants me moved to a B then we should compare given the formats I have played. And he out played me and is far more experienced. If I am a B then he is an A. Personally, I am happy with a C for me and a B for him but hey!

If this seems childish, it probably is and I make no apologies for it. Marc appealed my rating and it is purely coincidental I think his rating is inaccurate :)
File it through the PA Rep. You can do that by copying this post into the PA Rep thread in the PA subforum, or by emailing Daniel. Alternatively, Daniel may see and repsond to this post and take action accordingly. Best to follow one of the initial two suggestions though.

International Captain
My email address is loony_bob@yahoo.com - if someone is not going to file an official email to myself (I have so far only received emails from two CW captains who I have replied to personally so they know who they are) then I gather any posts they make in this thread are not serious complaints but more just raising concern.

EDIT: I have not received any email from Marc, who advised in a post in this thread that an appeal has been lodged. Just to clarify.

Robbins would be fairly close to an A IMO, ditto Camps. As Camps is a B though, I think it makes sense that Robbins is too.

Goughy's case is a bit different because there's nobody else like him at C. He's an international player, and that alone means he's never going to be a minor signing for a domestic club, which is basically what C indicates - a fringe player.

this may be the case already, but i beleive any main contracted player should be an A

I think Buts has a point here, clubs have to play an extra 5 points to sign more then 4 contracted players, so they should be worth 5 points already, seems a bit strange. Also if Goughy status gets upgraded so should Clapham IMO as well. IRL i doubt players who made international sqauds would be so cheap.

I think Robbins status is fine considering his a fringe international at present

I agree also. Any centrally contracted player should be given a grading of A.

I personally don't think it's fair if Goughy gets upped after he's been signed an confirmed on a contract as a C.

LOL You just dont want to have to pay the extra 2 points. If it was a player from another team, im sure you wouldn't have a problem with it.

In real life you are right you wouldnt be able to change the fee after signing on, BUT as this is the first time we have implemented a contract system i think it NEEDS to be looked at and adjusted accordingly for quite a few players.

I would prefer players be based on skill and experience (overall skill really) instead of just how much they played last season.

I don't see C as a fringe player, maybe a FC/OD specialist who may get a few games in the other form.
C doesn't necessarily have to be a fringe player, but if you look at the sort of people who have been rated C, that's generally what they are. Single format specialists who only appear in the other form occasionally have generally been rated as B, like Wilshere, Stedman, Collins and so on.

There are exceptions though, so if Goughy wasn't contracted, C would be fine, as it's the same level as a few other inexperienced players and single-format players. Just depends on how much difference the contract and internationals make.

Duh @ paying two extra points, but even if it was another side I'd still be against it. This contract system is harder to plan than you'd think captain-wise, and to have a spanner thrown in the works mid-way through it is completely unfair and I don't believe should be allowed to happen to any captain.

I don't know how quickly they want it over with, but I think that the signing up period should have been held up for a couple of days if there were to be an appeals process.

 I know i shouldn't laugh but anyways

I'm not complaining about it, just a bit higher would of been good.
Well nothing against you Luff but I think your captain would have been very happy you are at that level as it gives him a few more points to work with.

IRL there are players who have played international cricket and aren't in their clubs' first XI. Simply playing international cricket does not make you a valuable asset to your club, especially when you're unproven at both international and domestic level. Fidel Edwards would not get a more lucrative contract than an experienced domestic cricketer simply because he played internationals.
