*Official* English Football Season 2006-07

What I am saying is that Bridge was interviewed immediately after the game and said that Adebayor was sent off on the linesman's say so for punching Bridge.

He then pointed out that he wasn't hit by Adebayor.

I'm asking why he would say that
No idea, but I'm not believing someone who apparently can't remember that it wasn't a League match.

So why exactly would he make anything up?

He was asked about the red card, and told the reporter what he was told by the referee.

Since the red card has not been overturned, suggests that Wenger's comments about lying are true.

You're seriously coming up with some crap over this in your lust to defend Chief Whingeur. First you say Bridge doesn't know whether it's a league game or not and use that as a reason to accept what he said. Now you're saying what would be a wrongly given red card if it was awarded for punching Bridge, which is you and Chief Whingeur's theory, has not been overturned suggesting it was given for punching Bridge?!? That is the exact situation where it would be overturned.

Ffs, Silvestre coming on. IMO Saha would be a good choice atm due to his pace and their defence's relative lack of it.

Andy Gray called it ten minutes out to be fair to him, said United had developed the happy knack of nicking games when they'd been out-played.

United's title now, surely? Chavski still have to come to New Highbury too.

I know I always hope the CDMs lose, but if they did it today it'd be especially hilarious - they'd have lost their last four games in four separate competitions and Chief Whingeur's head would probably explode.

Regarding the Bridge debacle, I believe it was stated that Abedayor (or whatever) went to punch Bridge - he never said the punch was actually made. Intent, I guess. It was in Sky Sports a while ago.

EDIT: On the United game, I might be the only person who thought there was some justice in the result. I lost count of the times that Liverpool players failed to get spotted with regards to them completely wrapping their arms around our players' arms. This is normal every now and then and every team does it, but the amount of times it happened - sometimes even with Liverpool getting the free kick, somehow - was insane. Why else would Scholes have reacted so badly before getting sent off? It was everywhere. When they did get called out on it, they conceded. So I say that game had justice served. We didn't play very well at all, no, but we would have played a lot better if the opposition weren't strapping themselves on to us.

Some good scores thus far, with Blackpool only drawing and Doncaster getting beat. With ten games left I'm starting to believe that a Wembley trip may be in the offing.

I agree that we deserved to win, despite Liverpool having the better of the second half. I thought the ref started off fairly decently, but in the second half he was getting clearly intimidated by the crowd. We got basically no decisions our way. It wasn't just the penalty (as I said at the time, although it was a penalty, I can understand why he didn't give it) but every single little decision went Liverpool's way.

Then there's the indisputable fact that Liverpool obviously didn't do enough to win, because they didn't win. We obviously did, because we did win.
