Is there any other team which performs better when defending low totals?

Here is a stat which shows how Pakistani bowlers do when they defend totals under 200

Those statistics fail to take into account the effect of drug use and ball tampering on performance.

well there are poeple who credit Warne's 700 wickets to his Grandma's medicines and Murli's 700 to his physical discrepency, so should we just put an astrix to all of them?

The phrase "cornered tigers" originally comes from the 92 world cup,
pakistan had no hope of winning the world cup and only got through when another teams match was rained out(i think, cant remember)
imran khan got them all into a room and said stuff like
"from now on think as if you are a tiger and you are cornered)
stuff to that extent
and we all know what happened after that
that mentality has stuck in pakistani cricket since all them years
even if they do have half the talent they had back then

Sorry to bring logic or common sense to the argument but using the figures you quote, the answer is a resounding YES.

There are certainly better teams at defending 200.

Wasim Akram (Pak) 1984-2003 53 games 15 victories. Winning %age= 28%

Waqar Younis (Pak) 38 games 12 wins. Winning %age= 32%

SM Pollock (Afr/ICC/SA) 21 games 9 wins. Winning %age= 43%

Shahid Afridi (Asia/ICC/Pak) 22 games 8 wins. Winning %age= 36%

JH Kallis (Afr/ICC/SA) 15 games 7 wins. Winning %age= 47%

L Klusener (SA) 1996-2004 13 games 7 wins. Winning %age= 54%

Mushtaq Ahmed (Pak) 22 games 7 wins. Winning %age= 32%

Saqlain Mushtaq (Pak) 16 games 6 win. Winning %age= 38%

Fair to say, using your own figures, that South Africa are far superior.

It was their own group game against England: Pak had been dismissed for about 70, and then the rains came down. Sharing the points from that game allowed them to progress to the semifinals, and the rest is history.

Yet there's little evidence that Warne, even if he did take diuretics (which IMO is less likely than more), ever profited from it.

And as for Murali's physical discrepancy - a double-jointed wrist is no different in advantageousity to, for example, Waqar Younis's or Shaun Tait's abnormally fast shoulder-rotation.

Can't comeup with something better? Wonder what England did in the 2005 Ashes...ball started reverse swining right after 15 overs..:dry:
