What part of me being allowed to have an opinion are you struggling with?
The fact that I disagree with it. You can have an opinion all you want, but if I don't agree with it, I'm within all my rights to argue it and give my reasons.

He is the worst leg spinner I've seen at international level. The key contraction there being "I've".
Yeah, that's fair enough then, actually. I apologise. Due to the gap in between the resumption of the discussion, I didn't recall the exact wording of the original statement.

Yes but for someone who was supposedly half decent at bowling 2-3 years ago he is alot worse than Lara who hardly ever bowled.Bowling was not Lara's speciality as we all know.
Bowling isn't White's specialty either though. It's not 2003 anymore. Something a lot of people seem to be struggling with. That's why I lashed out - I'm sick of White being treated like he's a bowler when he clearly isn't. Voltman was clearly a misguided target for my outburst though so I apologise.

Although when you use phrases like "clearly isn't true", that implies I'm factually wrong. :p

I know he's rubbish now but I'm just refering to when he was supposedly a half decent bowler. He isn't a bowler now and I don't understand why Hussey gave him a bowl let alone 3 overs!!!.

the problem with that being that the Australian team clearly still think he has some ability with the ball because they keep bowling him... People are getting stuck into him because he seems to actually be a bowling option for Aus when he clearly shouldn't be.

And yet I hear commentators - and even see posts here - complaining that he hasn't been bowled enough.

He's actually a better bowler than what he's shown so far at international level, but not by much. He probably got the bowling he deserved early on - a few overs here and there. But he certainly should not have bowled yesterday, especially when he did.

BARNES OUT
Fair enough. Just pointing out that New Zealand weren't at full strength either, and if Australia concede 340 with just one first-string bowler missing, clearly the rest of the first-string bowlers weren't covering themselves in glory either, as well as the replacements.
I think missing your 3 best fieldsmen is at least equal to missing another key bowler. Considering McMillan wouldn't have been dropped if they were playing, as well as the potential runs they could've saved and the run out chances they could've taken.

I know how you feel, I thought NZ's bowlers were equally as embarassing in the first innings, with the exception of Bond
Haha I'm not an Australian supporter really, but I was expecting them to defend that score without too much of a bother when Vincent and Styris holed out. Australia, who pride themselves on excellent fielding, were pretty ordinary bar Hussey and White. I know they're missing their 3 gun fielders, but still. Jaques, Watson and Tait were very ordinary.

I wonder now that the series is over and done with, whether the kiwi's will be tempted to rest Bond for the last game.

Full strength  No Mills (our best oneday bowler of the 18 months), Oram (our best allrounder) and arguably Franklin, Martin or Mason ahead of Tuffey.

At least get your facts right 8-)
Ok, I'll give you Mills. Totally forgot about him. And he's a more essential part of the New Zealand dynamic than Oram IMO, but many will disagree with me on that.

I for one disagree. I think Oram's just as important, if not more, than Kyle Mills to our ODI side, especially given the way he batted in 3 of his last 4 innings and bowled in his last game.

Hussey is saying there is no need to panic and better planning is all thats needed. Anyways the whole cricketing world is on a high to see the aussies slip down to no.2, and now its really about time aussies start getting back on track.

This IMO is just going to make them unstoppable at WC. They've still got enough talent and if they're all pissed and focused, I wouldn't want to face them. It's not like they've had lots of people leave from the ODI side. It could be just the high from winning the Ashes 5-0, and just a natural tendency to level off a bit after a high like that.

Then again, who knows? This will make for a more interesting world cup.
