It won't happen, because you guys want Watson at 7 for the World Cup don't yo?.

In a dead rubber, why play Voges when he isn't going to even be involved?
To atleast give him an opportunity and also to indicate to players that state form will be rewarded with international selection.

That was one hell of a game. :boxed:

Good to see Aus take a beating. Here's to hoping they don't win the WC!

Anyway, who's the MotM? Taylor?

I think losing #1 title, the CB series and the CH series will make Australia hungry in the World Cup. Will win it, for mine.

Again, 2 matches? One was batting at 3 as well, IIRC.
Its one thing to get out early a few times in a row, but when you only make 3 runs from 16 balls on a flat deck you are hurting not only yourself but your team. Then there is his fielding, which has improved, but as you saw today is still lacking.

I don't think batting Watson up the order is just about where he's going to bat in the WC.

It seems to give him a lot of confidence knowing that the side and selectors have faith in his batting when there's so many other good quality options out there. He was batting terribly at 7 before and during the DLF Cup then in his first innings at opener he scored a brilliant 70-odd and just looked much better and more comfortable from then on. It certainly helps his bowling when he has a good run with the bat (Super Series, DLF Cup and CT are testament to that).

I just believe that now the aussie critics would bring the roof down. How does hussey manage to keep a smile on his face after all this?
As for bringing katich, i would say bring in david hussey he is scoring truck load of runs in domestic circuit and make watson open, because he hasn't had a decent bat for a long time.

The way Bond was bowling, I doubt any other opener would have done better than 3 off those 16 balls, though.

I think this third match, while a dead rubber, will tell us if he can do it at international level (maybe).

Agreed.

If NZ stay in this form it should take us through to the semis...not confident of us getting any further though.

I think you might need to find a new favourite player dontcloseyoureyes or you'll just find yourself constantly disappointed

He really came on in the CT, unfortunately injury yet again cost him what he needs so much, built-up confidence. If he can return to the form he had during the CT and do it for a few months he may just settle.
