Agreed. But that is how it should have been from the 1st match. It seems pretty obvious to all that the jaques experiment has not worked. Though knowing the selectors I would not be surprised to see them call up Simon katich.

I've given plenty of credit to Watson. He bowled well, but as I said, no need to get too excited.
What a fantastic run-chase from the Black Caps though. Performances like that surely must make the rest of the world sit up and take notice that NZ will be a major threat in the WC

FFS, has he had more than 2 games in a row? Yeah, he's failed twice now, but (eating my words) so did Hodge and he's pulled off a couple of great score recently. Jaques is a class player and I dare say he'll be a good ODI opener for Aus in the future. Tbh, I'd open with Watson and Jaques once Gilly and Hayden retire.
