What's defendable here? Anything under 180 or so and NZ would have to be favourites even on this surface, but above that is quite an even game for mine.
If Australia get to 100 with 15 overs to go and wickets in hand, that's not all that bad IMO.

Yep, seems like about a 180 pitch, for mine. It looks tailor-made for McGrath. I'm sure he's licking his lips. From what I've seen of Hodge, he's class. Obviously very adaptable too....As I say that Hodge is gone

just woke up, for those who have been watching is the pitch hard to bat on or has it just been excellent bowling from the Kiwis?
Disappointed to see that Watson has batted earlier, Haddin IMO would have been better coming in later in the innings hopefully if Hussey & Hodge can bat for the final 10 overs, but hopefully Watto can surprise me.

Haha, White ahead of Watson, even with 20 overs to come. Good to see them giving the guy who will play all the key matches in the WC good time in the middle.

Absolutely huge wicket. Very good knock from Hussey under the circumstances, but he would have been valuable at the end. Anything around 200 is a long way off now.
Hopefully these two can stay together into the last 5 or so overs though, and then White can tee off.

There goes the hitting power. 60 off the last 10 to get up to 170 odd would be a good effort from here. Watson really needs to hang around and bat with the tail.
