mmm, so were there any arguments about who was going to bat first in the nets between the Aussie guys? or was it 10 min each?
Johnson didn't get a bat, only White and Hogg did and it was for about 15-20 minutes each.

If anyone is interested, I can post a few videos I took of the practice?

His mother perhaps? Maybe not though - would be a close call.
Watson hardley did anything to say he'd perform better than White tomorrow. I think we rushed him back a bit too quick. He should of played another game for Queensland like Maher said.

I just cant believe where england came from to win the first final.....they lost the ashes 5-0, and during the one-dayers were bowled out for 110 odd, and that was the period where i thought they should just go home take a rest and get mentally prepared for the WC. They havent got pietersen or trescothick, who i think pose the biggest threat for other teams, and are winning games without them. Collingwood and Bell dont seem to know who they are playing, like other players do when they play Australia and with that thought they crumble under some unknown pressure, even if they are winning.
On the contrary, Bell seems to constantly be aware that it's Australia he's facing. He looked like a scared bunny rabbit in 2005. Now he looks like a slightly less scared bunny rabbit.

I can see Australia winning these next two finals by plenty...seems to me like it'll be much the same as last year. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it turns out differently though.

I've just spent the last hour & half reading this thread (yep, I have no life; it's now official) from the start of play tomorrow. It always amuses me reading back what people say with the benefit of hindsight; must be how God feels all the time!

Was it Ponting or Buchanan who asked for a "test" in the series? Hope he's now satisfied.

Another thing: 3 games ago Sky Bet were offering 129/1 on England to win the CB series, which I nearly had a quid on 'cos it was such insane odds for a three-horse race, even if we were a horse of the three-legged, knacker-yard-dodging variety at the time. Kicking myself now, obv.

Just back from cricket. I holed out to long off on 49. Damn...but we won so I'm pretty happy with that. Anyone else play today? Would like to hear match summaries from others.
I batted around 8-10 overs and still got a blob.

FFS. Team had a collapso, tried to hold on as long as possible, couldn't buy a run for my life. Embarassing stuff. It hurt more when the opposition legitimately complimented me for sticking it out and holding on after I was dismissed (bowled :(). I was the last wicket to fall. Almost patronising even though they meant well.

Needless to say we did crap, played the top team, all out for 151, have them 2/69. Going to be tough next week if we have any chance.

Weird thing last year was, not only did SL win the first final, they had Australia 3-for-crap-all in the second. Then got absolutely blown out of the water in extraordinary fashion thanks to Ponting and Symonds.

What are they paying now?
