Please don't let this gloss over the crap that we've served up before this. PLEASE!

Crucial decision for mine at the end was Ponting's choice of Watson rather than Bracken.

Well.... makes Sunday an interesting game, one must wonder if Australia will change the batting line-up at all, wether it be forced with Clarke seeming to have hurt himself, or if they'll give Watson a go up the order and let Clarke & Hussey do what they do best finishing.

Sweet victory, and quite unbelievable. Anyone predicting after the SL series that an English attack opening with Plunkett & Mahmood would win 3 on the trot against Aus, NZ & Aus again would have been carted off.

Obviously Collingwood's finest week as an England cricketer. As someone said earlier, it does help when someone goes on to make a 100. I wonder why Ponting didn't keep Lee on when Fred came in though?

Tremendous effort from England. Proving that you can reverse ODI form pretty quickly...

Australia were very complacent though imo. I guess that's what you get after winning all summer...

Thought Ponting could have done better with his field settings at the death but then again his bowlers didn't really help him..

wtf is with all the dropped catches in the deep in this series as well?

I am mistaken?.Did Ponting not take the power play when England were 20 odd for 3.That's an unbeliavable decision as well as his faith in Watson.

He only postponed it for 1 over.

Only 30 boundaries too in over 500 runs. Pretty unusual for a ODI but maybe not for the the MCG.

Really pisses me off about how England keep choosing Dalrymple, though. Pick someone who can bat or someone who can bowl. Do not pick someone who does neither.

Collingwood controlled that innings and that game beautifully. Best OD knock I've seen from an Englishman...probably ever

If Watson isn't batting in the top 5, he really shouldn't be in the team at all. Especially given he doesn't seem to be bowling at 100%. I'd bat him at 4 - as always, his technique looked quite impressive tonight until he had to go aerial.
