You could at least admit that you've been surprised with his batting though mate. C'mon
I haven't been all that surprised with his batting because it was patently obvious he was capable of that. I questioned his ability to do it consistently over an extended period - something that one series doesn't really change much...

I was quite surprised with his horrible bowling though, actually, because I always rated him quite a good - and consistent - one day bowler.

Given the pasting Bell took in 2005, he's shown some character. As you say, he still has a fair bit to prove, but, given the circumstances, he's done well to keep his head above water, even if he's usually needed a life or two in the onedayers.
Yeah certainly not the ''timid little creature'' implied by Stuart Law.

Jeez, I have a feeling I made a stupid avatar bet revolving around England's performance in these finals - I hope it was about England winning the whole shebang and not just winning one of the matches.
As opposed to the quality avatar you have at the moment?

If England required 100 to win when he was in, I wouldn't be too confident to be honest. He's a good biffer but under pressure situations, I'm not certain.
Before this series, I'm sure everyone would be saying the exact opposite. His ability as a "biffer" has only really come out in this series - before then, he had the rep as a mentally strong player capable of seeing out pressure situations and getting England out of trouble. His quick scoring down the order has surprised me quite a bit actually, even though I rate the guy.

RRR has just crept above 6, which shouldn't be a problem, but they don't want to repeat NZ's mistakes the other day.

What are the odds right now? I wouldn't be surprised if it is still in favor of Australia.

haha, nicely downplay his batting feats in this series there Prince. Admittedly his bowling hasn't been great.

I'd slap a tenner on Australia with those odds.

EDIT: Especially now. Lee is hauling Australia back into this game.
