Some of the lack of heart and timidity shown by English players during this tour has been a bit disappointing at times. But, although he's hardly set the world on fire, I haven't really felt that Bell's been wanting in that area. His natural game seems to be to grind things out at the beginning before unfurling his strokes, though he's seemed fairly vulnerable in this tournament when he makes that transition.

All in all, while you couldn't call this a very good tour for him, I've gone from having little regard for him to admiring his toughness - there's just something about him that suggests he has a real future. Hopefully he can score some runs here and bring this game back to life.

Well, in a way I find it hard to believe that somebody would mock such a thing, so I'm inclined to believe him - what I'd like him to do though is explain what he did mean by the gesture. I mean, WTF was that actual point of it? His explanation seems nonsensical.

Anyway, even assuming that he didn't mean to ridicule breast cancer or people with breast cancer, it's just more clarification that Healy is the resident idiot of the com-box.

BTW, thought Symonds was OK behind the mike - not in the sense of necessarily being a future commentator, but he was entertaining without being irritating and seemed comfortable.

The longer these two prevent Flintoff from coming in the better IMO. Easy send then done considering Bell does love chucking it away but they should look to score of Watson and just milk the rest until at least the 35th over. Doing well at the moment.

Given the pasting Bell took in 2005, he's shown some character. As you say, he still has a fair bit to prove, but, given the circumstances, he's done well to keep his head above water, even if he's usually needed a life or two in the onedayers.

He has an outstanding technique and has played some gutsy innings, and also some promising cameos. He has shown enough to me that he could be a very good player for England but really needs to get a few more big scores under his belt
