*Official* English Football Season 2006-07

Tom Halsey

International Coach
Fat Frank isn't in the X1?.I must be mistaken because Crouch and Downing have never started for England have they.........And don't blame it down to injuries as well. It's only your precious Owen and Cole:laugh:
Crouch started due to Sven rating him, and since due to Owen being injured. Downing isn't exactly a regular, and has only played due to Cole being injured in the main.

And no, I don't rate Lampard.

Robinson, Neville, Rio, Terry, Ashley Cole, Lennon, Carrick, Gerrard, Joe Cole, Owen, Rooney.

Unsure on Carrick tbh, and also if Foster keeps impressing and Robinson keeps making errors, replace Robinson with Foster.

What the hell is the point of exclusing injured players? We're talking best XI here.
So you'd take Carrick over Hargreaves who was your best player by a mile at the WC right.......I'm talking about you naming the best X1 now.Not when that midget owen returns
I'll do 2 teams one the best X1 at the moment and the other if you get to the Euro's(we'll see you their then:laugh:  )

Best X1 to take on the might of Israel IMO

Foster
Richards
Ferdinand
Terry
Cole
Lennon
Hargreaves
Gerrard
Barry (If Cole's not fit)
Rooney
Defoe

Best X1 if you get to the Euro's

Foster
Richards
Ferdinand
Terry
Ash Cole
Lennon
Hargreaves
Gerrard
Joe Cole
Rooney
Owen

Ah, forgot Hargreaves - knew there was someone I'd swap Carrick for.

And, considering how different both of the sides mentioned are to the one that played last night, what exactly was the relevance of last night at all?

I'm not asking if you rate him and I'm not talking about your X1.I was just very surprised that you thought he didn't play many games. You quoted that Frank wasn't a England regular but he most certainly is.

I said some good teams in there. . :p
Like who?.So "good" teams are now Uruguay and Greece. And don't talk about Greece winning the Euro's as they were diabolical against England so really they are an average team who played very well that year.

Uruguay and Greece are both good teams. Not great, but good. Better than Scotland by the World Football Elo rankings (both being in the top 20 while Scotland is 41).

TBH the world rankings don't count as it is a farce.I mean Mexico number 5 in the world........ .Don't read much into the world rankings.Yes,they are both "decent" teams but no more then that no matter what the world rankings say.

Really?.Maybe you can elaborate on why?.I'm just putting my opinions forward.Don't see to much wrongin having an opinion. As they say......it's only a game.
To quote Pothas (going from memory):

"Everyone is allowed an opinion but I'm afraid that sort of opinion is dangerously poor."

I didn't say he wasn't a regular at all. I said he wouldn't be in my XI.
