So the players missing were Rooney,Cole,Hargreaves and Terry (and Owen when he returns from injury).Hardly as though you were playing any better with these players in your side.
Hardly as though you stuck a bunch of kids out there with no England experience.Please don't make excuses and blame it on others not being there.When was the last time England put in a memorable performance?.Croatia in the Euro's.

Carrick, Wright-Phillips and Crouch wouldn't play in the first XI. Crouch would be a likely option as a sub.

The thing that irritated me was the first half formation and the first thing McClaren moaned about in the interview was injuries. McClaren always comes across as a weak politician, the players are never to blame, he's hardly ever to blame, it's just some circumstances beyond his control that's to blame.

Well done, you have managed to islate 3 players out of 11 who would "definitely play".

Would they really make that much difference though to this pathetic team they call "England".McClaren would still play Fat Frank and Gerrard no matter how poorly they played so why would these players par Rooney and maybe Cole make much of a difference.At least us Scots play with passion and heart.I can't believe people still bother supporting or making excuses for England.They're just a bunch of over-pampered and over-hyped morons (you can see that in the interviews).

Yes, they would make a difference as only 3 players out of the starting 11 last night would still be in it.

All England need is a better coach. The quality is there and no matter how much pride their is in representing your country, poor tactics and selctions will make you not seem to play well.

I think the point was that the quality is there in England. If there was a different coach/manager, obviously the team would be different.

Also, Crouch's goal ratio in international games isn't exactly poor - although to be fair, I've no idea who they were against off the top of my head.

EDIT: Here we go... Uruguay, Hungary, Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, T&T, Greece, Greece, Andorra, Andorra, Macedonai. Still, some good teams there.

Robinson, Neville, Rio, Terry, Ashley Cole, Lennon, Carrick, Gerrard, Joe Cole, Owen, Rooney.

Unsure on Carrick tbh, and also if Foster keeps impressing and Robinson keeps making errors, replace Robinson with Foster.

What the hell is the point of exclusing injured players? We're talking best XI here.

Fat Frank isn't in the X1?.I must be mistaken because Crouch and Downing have never started for England have they.........And don't blame it down to injuries as well.It's only your precious Owen and Cole:laugh:
