***Official*** Sri Lanka in India

How though? Duckworth Lewis is different to this isn't it, because that generally has to do with a score already being on the board, and re-setting a target based on less overs.

However a score hasn't been set for the 20 overs yet, how would they be able to calculate a hypothetical score that SL would have scored?
Well, they'd figure out Sri Lanka's predicted score for 50 overs (much like how when you are chasing a score, you have to be on a certain score after a certain amount of overs, obviously if you are on a certain score after a certain amount of overs, a predicted score matches up..) and then readjust the target for India to chase down in 20 overs.

It's do-able with D/L.

Jono are you watching this game on tv or is it Cricinfo for you?
Cricinfo for him (unless he bought internet coverage or something). Fox Sports are currently showing the NSW/WA one day game for the THIRD time. Wouldn't have been a bad investment from Fox Sports to get this series tbh.

Yeh agreed. I am disappointed that this or the last series wasn't shown on Fox Sports.

Cricinfo, not showing on Fox Sports and I didn't purchase any internet streaming because I will be a bit busy during some matches, and have a couple of exams coming up.

Need India to win this series though, for financial reasons :p No loss, no draw, just gotta win. And if this match is drawn, its now best of 3 series, which can be good as it reduces the chance of a drawn series, but I thought India were doing okay, even with Sanath going wild.

No fair - we've had hardly any snow at all in Manchester!

Grim and frozen north, my ****.

Back on-topic, I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd made it an 18.3 over game and used D/L accordingly. I think that's where the SL innings stopped, anyway.

Hopefully, Jayasuriya will continue in this vein through to the World Cup. One of the great ODI players, and (reportedly) a true gent as well.

IMO Munaf looks like India's best seam bowler by a mile. The other seamers are all very inconsistent and can for for loads of runs including Sreesanth,Zaheer and Agarkar as well as Pathan.

Since this was washout, I expect an unchanged Team for the next one - although resting Sanath J may be not be a bad idea.

Please do!

Seriously, with Australia losing their first final, my multi-bet of India and Australia winning their respective series has me a bit less enthusiastic.

No Jayasuriya, Vaas and Murali would be handy for India, and if they lost to a SL team with those players missing they may as well throw in the towel.
