Cricketer Of The Year
My hope and prayer is that none of the key players of either Team gets injured playing in a warm up series like this before the World Cup.(The curse of Kyle Mills)

I hope SL consider alternating some of the key batsmen - ie resting Sangakkara and Jayasuriya for alternate games. ( But I notice SL squad doesn't have a reserve keeper) ...

My SL selection for today's Day nighter at Calcutta..

Sanath J
Tharanga
Sangakkara
Mahela
Arnold
Atapattu
Dilshan
Maharoof
Bandara
Zoysa

Why does Cricinfo list Manoj Tiwary as being a member of the India squad, both on the squad lists page and on the live scores page?

they'll probably reduce the over pr side; any idea by how much? Dont expect anyone to just know this off the top of their heads, but maybe someone has heard something!

Two hours of rain, plus a while to clear the outfield...perhaps as many as 40 overs lost...30 overs each?

No idea how they work things regarding Duckworth-Lewis, etc. If there isn't any adjustment, it'll be an advantage to the side batting second.

6:35 pm local: Anand informs me that the SuperSopper is working overtime and that the groundstaff are looking at getting a 20-over game in. Even for that to happen, play would have to start at 8:30 pm local and there are still a lot of wet patches around the ground. At the moment, the start of play is a long way off. The covers are still on. The situation has vastly improved from two hours ago.
Wouldn't that heavily advantage the Indian team, seeing as they'll have 10 wickets in hand and know their target?

How though? Duckworth Lewis is different to this isn't it, because that generally has to do with a score already being on the board, and re-setting a target based on less overs.

However a score hasn't been set for the 20 overs yet, how would they be able to calculate a hypothetical score that SL would have scored?
