Bond was swinging it again and Flem showed some form so it wasn't that bad a result for us. I honestly don't think we would gain much getting beaten by Australia 6 times instead of 4. We play them in NZ in a few weeks anyway.

Oram - was ordinary with ball but amazing with the bat
Vettori - bowled very well for the majority of the tournament
Bond - looked terrible until today when he started swinging the ball again
Fleming - Just scored a ton after having a real struggle with the bat.

but how good is Vaughans captaincy... he is DEFINATELY a specialist captain...

firstly his opening bowlers do **** as... then takes the powerplays off.. completely diff field..diff bowlers.. gets a wicket.. puts an attacking field [silly mid on.. is that what u call it? that really close guy under te nost of the batsman] i think thats really good coz its not like the new batsman will attack.. and also bringing mid on and mid off in at the exact times
and his rotating of the bowlers have been SPOT ON

we have a challenge for the finals :O Monty and Flintoff bowling together seems reallly good.. and Plunkett and Mahmood can go for ****loads but can also be a REAL handful... Colly as we have seen is steady...

and the batting, it seems that Strauss and Colly ... who are good at nudging singles and killing the bad balls etc. ...are in form now... and Dalrymple looks good in the last 10 overs

so we'll be really tested... despite this could be England C side they have played like 8 games together and u r bound to play well together after 8 games no matter what team u put i think

Interested to note your comments about Vaughan - he certainly made my earlier one look pretty silly. I got the impression that he rotated the bowlers brilliantly, and did amazingly well to retrieve the game after that shockingly poor start from P&M.

We are forced to have our team labelled as second-rate compared to the wonderful, unbeatable All Blacks, have to endure 9 months of rugby being pretty much the only sport worth mentioning and the fact that absolutely no first-class cricket is broadcast live on TV with the exception of Twenty20.

We just want our team to show the country how well they can play, that they actually deserve some attention once in a while. The cricket team has made almost as many World Cup semis as the All Blacks have, after all.

It's just so devastating when they fall short of what we all want to see them achieve, meaning we'll have to endure yet another (this time well-deserved) onslaught by the news media tomorrow.

To be fair, no FC cricket bar the Pura Cup final is broadcast in Australia, and even then that is on PayTV.

Now that England have reached the finals, they better damn well put up a good fight. Of course, I want them to lose in the end, but I want 3 excellent cricket games, where Australia eventually wins 2-1, not 2 absolute floggings which have plagued recent finals series although I do remember Sri Lanka taking us to a third game last year, but they were still flogged in the two games which they lost.
