I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Alright guys, I need some help (though I may be beyond help).

Right now, it doesn't look as though the season will start anytime soon. And to be honest, I don't want to rush it.

With 2nd XI managers this looks to be our largest season yet so more people being involved, the better.

Basically, we need the following.

  • 2nd XI simmers using VC4. I'll train you in what you need to do.
  • Content updaters for the website. Steve does a great job with stats etc but I'd like a couple of people to help update end of season stuff like records, career stats, hall of fame etc.
  • Season website updaters. like I said, Steve does a great job with stats but I'd like someone to pick a 'team of the week' and do a weekly wrap up.
  • A 'feature writer' to basically do an in depth recount of one match per week that will be showcased on the website. If there's enough interest we may bring back a magazine to be released weekly, bi weekly or monthly.

I'm also thinking of bringing in a couple of changes. I'd like everyones feedback on the following.

  • 2 games per week, 1FC and 1 OD. This will keep activity high and the season going at a good pace.
  • 1 match per week but less rounds. This way the season doesn't drag on but there aren't as many games.
  • 2 more cups to go with the CW Bar Cup. One would be for 2nd XI managers and another I'm yet to think of but perhaps a 20/20 format of some sort.

If you're interested reply here or email me etendard@gmail.com

Also, Gaurav (cricketboy29) is basically updating all his stats on his own. To help him and WCC out anyone who can help out (even if it's just updating their teams or their divisions stats) it'd be greatly appreciated.

And just FYI

Our house goes on auction this Saturday and if it sells we'll have 4 weeks to move, 2 weeks of which I won't have internet access and I don't know how long it will be until I get internet access in our new place. Until then I'm still busy packing and organising, but will check my emails daily so any questions just email me rather than post on the forum I guess.

I think I can be one of the second XI simmers. Until exams roll around, at which point im afraid real life takes priority.

Geg, I'd advise heavily against more than 1 game a week, WCC works well because you could play it with 10 minutes net access a week.

Thats why I'm asking everyones opinions.

With two games a week you could submit both teams at once...

As I said on MSN before Greg, I'm happy to help with the stats but if there is anything else you need then don't hesitate to ask.

I like the ideas of two games per week and a Twenty20 Cup. But three cups could just be over kill. Probably better just replacing the current one with Twenty20 and a 2nd XI Cup added, unless the Twenty20 is straight knockout. Also one problem with two games per week, is that it puts too much burden on the simmers.

Okay, got a fair amount of interest in the simming. I've got a couple of people lined up to do that (I'm doing 1st XI anyway) but if I need anyone else I'll let you know.
