So he's a hitter then. Damn, I was hoping he wasn't.

If we can keep australia to 20 - 30 runs here, they'll need 9 - 10 an over going into the last 10 overs. That oughta be some good cricket.
I think he scored 141* in a Twenty20 game in England once, so it's safe to say he can hit the ball.

Feeling this match slip away from our grasp. Not a nice feeling to tell you the truth.
I know. It reminds me of that match where Razzaq got 89 off 39.

The Aussies need 8.5 an over now, and that's going up, but I don't see us winning it from here unless we pick up a few wickets.

May be a bit too early for the doom and gloom guys.

A couple of quick wickets when they start their assault (I assume around the 40 over mark) and we could be right back in it. I reckon Australia need to get about 210 at about the 40 over mark to have the balance in their favour. If around 200 or less we might be able to hold them off - though as I type, Bond seems to be bowling quite poorly.

Glorious finish from Ponting off Vettori. Great six and a pair of twos. 1/55 for Vettori in the end, and he bowled better than that.

A wicket now can quite possibly trigger a mini collapse, but the question is who is going to deliver that? Oram?

Eng fans would have the right to feel pretty pissed off if Aus lose this lol.

Australia's odds for winning the whole thing would be interesting if they lose this match, all things considered. It was 1.11 before this match.

Although it's obviously better for us if Oz win I'm still really struggling to support them. It's just alien to everything I hold dear.

Anyway if Punter stays in I think it's a moot point.

Just the 1 wicket now wont do, the Kiwis need 2, and quickly.
Otherwise Australia will coast home.

Good supporting innings from Hodge here
