Above 8 an over now. Not panic stations yet, while Hussey is still to come. If these two can get to the 40 over mark around 200 or so, Australia are still very much alive. Anything much short of 200 or another wicket or two down there and it's New Zealand's game.

Big over there, 10 off it.

Wrong thread though. Whether you're interested or not, it belonged in the other thread.

Anyway, useless me posting about it several times as it really defeats the purpose.
Ah, who cares? If you're sitting in front of a game with mates in a lounge would there be a rule that you are not allowed to talk about other games?

Fiery mate the 438 barrier has already been broken by sri lanka who scored 440 odd runs against netherlands(and sadly it was an international match). Australia are currently going no where, lets get a move on guys.
I was not aware of that actually

Hodge really needs to get a move on. 23 of 40 odd is pretty poor and is putting too much pressure on Ponting (damn, all those 'p' words lol!). Maybe its time Punter tells him to hit out or get out, and get Hussey in.

Since the ball was changed Australia seem to be able to turn the strike over much more efficiently.

Pressure needed to be built up again here.

Whatever happens, its gonna be a thriller methinks

Styris is doing a great job of using up overs for little runs, considering he's a part - timer.

Ponting is the key though.

8+ an over needed now. 142 needed of 108 at the end of the 32nd over.
Not sure if I'd call Styris a part-timer. Definitely picked for his batting... but I think his bowling is a class above that of a part-timer.

I think he's playing pretty well actually. The key was to build a partnership and he's done that. As long as the required rate didn't get out of control, there was no desperate hurry early on. If he kept scoring at that rate throughout it'd be a problem, obviously.

Alright, this game is going down to the wire, Punter or not. If NZ can snap up Ponting and hussey in quick succession (white as well, but I don't know his abilities - can someone fill me in?) then I reckon we can clinch it.

edit: Bond on. Hopefully he can do some magic.

Fair enough, I guess. I am not actually watching it after all. Anyway, as I said earlier, if Australia get to 200 - 210 by the 40th over with 5 - 6 wkts in hand, then it is game on in a big way. Punter is crucial, obviously.

Well if NZ don't get White out, and he gets 10+ overs to bat, Australia will win the game - he doesn't mess around. This situation is basically why White is in the team. In front of his home crowd too. I'm expecting something meaningful from him.

So he's a hitter then. Damn, I was hoping he wasn't.

If we can keep australia to 20 - 30 runs here, they'll need 9 - 10 an over going into the last 10 overs. That oughta be some good cricket.
