I thought Mitchell was a good coach. I just think the Kiwis dogged him down because we lost the cup. I dont think he was criticised before the point where we lost. Rediculous.

I had a sleepless night too and was cursing John Mitchell for months afterwards, in fact, still am. The '95 result was gut-wrenching too but that was just disppointment. In 2003 I was just angry with Mitchell mainly for the way he had treated some of our great players, particularly my all-time favourite player Christian Cullen and then didn't win the World Cup
Yeah, it was a shame about Cully.
Granted he was not the same after his knee surgeries, but to end his career at 26 (?) was way out wacky - but it seems he and mitch did not get on. Ah well.

I actually thought it was one of the funniest nights of my life. Mind you, I hate rugby, and think the all blacks are a bunch of arrogant tossers.
Whaaaat? Who the players, the coaches, the NZRFu? or just everyone in general is an arrogant tosser

Well you're one of the minority. Why's it rediculous (sic)? He was pilloried quite widely, particular because of his attitude towards the media, right throughout his tenure. Anyway, this is a cricket forum so I wont go on too much about it

I saw 112/3 on the Cricinfo live scorecard. I hoped we got Punter, but we'll settle for Clark.

Hodge hasn't been in form of late, has he?

I'm not seeing the beginnings of a mullet on the back of Scott Styris's head, am I?

Gee, and your view on the players isn't ever so slightly coloured by your opinion of rugby?

Considering some of the genuinely arrogant teams we've had in the past (think the early 1990s era of Grizz Wylie coaching, and a bunch of aloof blokes led by Gary Whetton), these guys are a breath of fresh air. I've had dealings with them through my work and they're always willing to give their time.

Required rate going up pressure building on punter, still i think punter may just pull this off for us. Hussey should come before hodge, a left and right combination would have worked well for us.
