The reason I'm doing it is that if Vincent gets out in the next few overs it's gonna hurt. But, if he can stay in for another 10+ overs, then we probably have a good shot at 300.Fair enough. Shall we make it you can change your pick up until the end of the 30th over if you want?
Huge call for a team with the likes of Hayden, Gilchrist, Ponting, Clarke and Hussey!I don't think the australia side that has been fielded today can chase 275+ , unless either ponting or gilchrist get a ton, then they are in with a chance.
Just to stick my neck out a little more, from 1/154 after 30.
True, but IMHO I think Australia are ripe for the picking at the moment. Time will tell butHuge call for a team with the likes of Hayden, Gilchrist, Ponting, Clarke and Hussey!
Fair enough.True, but IMHO I think australia are ripe for the picking at the moment. Time will tell but
1) gilchrist will give you a chance early, NZ need to take it
2) Hodge is well, I would be suprised if he made a big score, then again if you throw enough darts your bound to hit the bullseye eventually (as seen by Matthew Hayden's ODI form this summer)
3) Clarke has quite a few flaws in his game, which is understnadable for a young player, he appears to have been worked out by the kiwis
4) Under lights Australia have been known to crumble
True, in fact IIRC England did not get him out in the natwest series before the 2005 Ashes, yet he was not called into the test squad, which frustrated me immensely.Fair enough.
We've only got Hussey out twice in ODIs though, he's averaging in the hundreds against us.
I really think 280+ is enough on this track. I think it might suit the Kiwi bowlersThey'll need 300 on this pitch. If we can have Oram coming in with 10 overs to go and a good platform we should be able to do it.
My thoughts exactly. I was hoping Fulton would be out before the 40th, because he's just not a hitter in the calibre of Oram, Mccullum etc.A perfect time for Fulton to depart I think. Well played but need the power-players in now
