I read about it tonight, Italian FA have suspended all of the games because of it. Insane fans.

Getting back on subject, 28 players named for a friendly, like WTF?
a) he doesn't have enough bottle to make a decision himself so just picks everyone the media suggests.

b) he realises that as its a friendly there'll be half a dozen "injuries" that won't stop the player playing on either weekend but will mean they can't play on Wednesday.

Not English, but did anybody hear about the riot between Palermo and Catania supporters? Thoughts go out to police officer Filippo Raciti who was killed by a homemade bomb. Currently both sides are blaming each other, but I'm both of you are both at fault and both clubs deserve have points taken off and a very heavy fine. It is a shame, because both clubs, especially Catania were having a fine season. Palermo looked liked a near certainty to finish 3rd and have a chance of Champions League football next season while Catania were in position to finish at least in a UEFA Cup spot, and considering their aim was to avoid relegation, that's not bad at all.

Yeah truly terrible. The latin race is hotblooded however so no surprise that something like this has happened..

Very interesting if true:

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has agreed to join Real Madrid as long as the Spanish club sign Manchester United's Ronaldo. (Daily Star)
Especially as Real Madrid offered Man Utd £45m for Ronaldo.

I always laugh at the transfer figures being mooted for players. If he were sold it would be a nice £33m profit to United and if Sporting have a sell-on fee then they would be laughing as well.

To say Ronaldo would be sold for just £33m is a joke. SAF has already stated he wouldn't sell for £45m or "all the money in the world." Ronaldo is contracted until 2010 and is arguably the best player in the world right now. Who would sell a player in that situation?

As transfer speculation goes I'd rate it as "distinctly possible". Regards of what Sir Alex says he's an employee of a PLC, the same as Ronaldo. Moreover, if a player (particularly one of Ronaldo's class) wants to move they almost invariably do.

It was reported even before the World Cup that Ronaldo was agitating for a move to Spain & I'm sure what transpired there only strengthened his resolve. It's to his immense credit that he's been the undoubted player of the season thus far, but if Real really want him & offer silly money (which £33m is, much less £45m) I think they'll get him.

Well no I said they would make a £33m profit on the £12m they paid for him in 2003. And that is a load of crap because if that sort of money was really there, and getting beyond £50m it would be very hard to say no as that is some healthy transfer spending, especially for the players SAF could buy with it.

Private company now BB - don't forget the morons who chanted United not for sale, when as a PLC that's exactly what they were ;)

Yes, you're quite right, of course. I think I was confused as "PLC" just sounds more evil, which fits ManUre, obviously.

Yeah, they're looking a bit stuid now anyway as people are finally realising that Glazer was a good thing.

Anyway, I sincerely hope Ronaldo doesn't go.

good point, but it will be interesting to see how goes or becomes like that Thompson bloke..
'that Thompson bloke'?!

Jeez, the guy was earmarked to solve the left midfield problem but it just never happened.

Michael Ball moving from Everton to Rangers was probably worse.

Not sure what's worse, conceding a 90th minute goal and then having a man sent off, or having an Oldham player in your avatar. Dire.

Does the professional foul rule still exist? See stuff all the time like today where Bramble ballses up as usual and pulls the player back so he doesn't get a one-on-one or at the very least a very good opening - another one of those situations where a defender 'might' get across so he only gets a yellow card. The rules are crap anyways. Offsides are a farce and referees should be awarding penalties for last man or similar situations not sending people off.
