Yeah most likely. I meant lives as in chances at the crease. Nixon dropped him. Thats 4 dropped chances hes survived in 2 innings!

Hayden may have played well, but its still my opinion that him getting out when he did cost Australia the game. Yeah there was Hussey to come, but Symonds was showing signs of injury, yet they were cruising and why both Symonds and him decided they had to go at 6-7 an over at that stage is beyond me, and Hayden has a history of doing these things in ODIs.

Hayden IMO has secured his place in the WC squad and probably in the final 11.With another Hodge failure possibly Jaques or Voges could get a chance in the Chappell-Hadlee series to stake a claim for a WC place. Also I think Hogg should should play instead of Johnson in the caribbean as with 5 pace bowlers i can get to predictable and Hogg is actually a very good spin bowler who bowls with good control.

Would also like to see Hilfenhaus get a go in the Chappell-Hadlee trophy because of his very impressive debut.Clark's place might be coming underthreat as he seems to only bowl one length and is quite predictable.

I agree. Hogg is a great talent. Havn't seen too much of his batting, it looks ok though. Would there be any chance he could bat at 7 or is that pushing it a bit? I know you guys rate Cameron White but from what I've seen he hasn't impressed me that much. He can hit a six or two but his bowling looked pretty ordinary! First leggie i've seen for a while that gets no spin what so ever......

Highest Hogg would bat would be at 8 and I think Watson when fit will come back into the side probably at 7 to offer much greater bowling depth and he is still a very handy batsmen.White bowled allright today but generally he really can't be trusted and he doesn't have many varations so I imagine Clarke and Symonds will try and get through 5 overs each. in the WC to allow the 4 main pace bowlers or Hogg to bowl 10

Well the England win certainly means that the last 2 games have extra spice. While im disappointed Australia dropped a game to England, I think overall for the competition it is great because at least the last 2 games won't be dead rubbers.
New Zealand will now be desperate to beat Australia so a) they won't have to worry about beating England on tuesday & b) they will want to kick Australia further down after last night

Good luck boys, it'll be a great end to the series.

How exactly did Marshall get 4 points for his 3-ball duck?

Yeah, I'm certainly not convinced about him either, and I'm worried he'll be a liability in the WC. He's done enough to secure his spot and really can't be dropped at this point though, unless he doesn't score a run in the six games Australia has before the WC.
