Haha every year I put a tenner on him to win the French. Last three years hasn't worked out but he'll get there eventually.

Theres a good chance hell be favourite for it this year, Nadal isnt convincing atm but theres still some time to go. I still like Ferrero for it though...

ferrero's best is behind him....nadal is the only thing standing between the grand slam for federer...if federer has no injuries he will surely beat sampras' record

Ferrero is still young enough and ranked high enough to be considered a threat. If hes healthy he's the best clay courter on tour (even better than Nadal). He's got to be exactly right physically and mentally but hes still a potential French Open winner again.

Disagree with that assesment I'm afraid.Ferrero hasn't been playing good tennis for 3 years and I believe that Ferrero won't have a hope in winning the French. He's just so far behind Federer and Nadal at the moment.

hes still only 26, which is about the age a tennis player should be peaking. Last year he did make a masters series final in cincinatti, he beat Blake, Nadal and Robredo from memory, that suggests to me hes still got some ability. Sure his ranking isnt that great (around 25), but really he only needs a couple of good tournaments and hes back in the top 20 and i know for sure there wouldnt be many players wanting to meet him early at the french.

he could be a remote ouside chance!..but other than that no....tennis player has no set peak time, it could 14, 30 or even 26 as u say but there is no around time where a player peaks

Was having tennis withdrawals following the completion of the Australian Open, so purchased some home-made tennis DVDs over Ebay which arrived yesterday.

Got myself:
- Sampras vs. Agassi - US Open 2001 Quarterfinals (Match where no service break occurred all match!)
- Sampras vs. Agassi - US Open 2002 Final (Sampras' last ever ATP match, a grandslam victory in his country against his rival)
- Safin vs. Federer - Aus Open 2005 Semis... 'nuff said

Quality so far has been excellent, and listening to the American commentators on ESPN isn't too bad actually, a nice change.

Haas and Gonzalez both crashed out in the quarters of their respective tournaments this week, i guess a tough schedule for both in recent weeks is taking its toll. A Quarter final for both is probably a good result because it keeps them fresh for davis cup next week but also gave them a few good matches to prepare for it...

Malisse beats Blake in the Delray Final, massive upset. Malisse has always been a good player, and I guess the break in play with the match going to the next day helped him seeing as he was a set down and 3-3 in the second, but still that's a great win for him. He's a cool player.

Blake would be spewin about the rain delay, he had that match in the bag at 7-5 3-3

Well... looks like your tip about that Belgium bloke, Kaif... yeah whatever his name is, was right Simon. He beat Hewitt in a 5 setter in the Davis cup on the W/E, which is a fair effort considering Hewitt's record in 5 setters.

I think it's fair to say that unless Hewitt can develop a better power game he's really going to find it difficult to break back into the top 10. He may be a fighter, but it's starting to prove that alone, it's just not enough.
