I hope Woodgate can stay fit, we badly need a commanding centre-half, with pace that can play the ball out of defence.

If there is any worries about karma for previous, I feel Woodys going through his penance, he's playing for Middlesborough after all:unsure:

Barton possible inclusion is definately good news. Woodgate if called up & can stay fit will end up battling with Carragher for a final place in Englad's Euro 2008 squad IMO with the rise of Richards who is a definate in that squad once he stays fit & keeps improving.

Cole's injury might give Baines or more likely Lee Naylor a call up and if Gareth Barry isn't called up finally i'll curse.

Lee Naylor who is Celtic's first choice left-back ATM who apparantly has been doing very well this season & has Mclaren's interest.

Yes Bridge will replace ash, but he will pick 2 left-backs anyway & it will be either Baines or Naylor as back-up. I'll guess it will be Naylor since he plays for a bigger club.

Whilst he can't win the Saj award, I thought Massimo Maccarone would take the award if he could: http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/feb1m.html

Rather I always had the impression he was rubbish.
Only in England can someone with such evident limits become the head of the national team.”

 Spot on and TBH if it wasn’t for Massimo's late goal heroics last season in the UEFA would McClaren be England manager, probably not.

Decent move for Maccarone, remember when he killed are under 21's a few years back with Andrea Pirlo. Scored an absolute wonder goal and then played for the full team a day later, looked the business.

Funny that, do you remember Alan Thompson?

nah i don't but what i read of him i think i see where you are going with this, but that doesn't mean the same will happen to Naylor.

Not English, but did anybody hear about the riot between Palermo and Catania supporters? Thoughts go out to police officer Filippo Raciti who was killed by a homemade bomb. Currently both sides are blaming each other, but I'm both of you are both at fault and both clubs deserve have points taken off and a very heavy fine. It is a shame, because both clubs, especially Catania were having a fine season. Palermo looked liked a near certainty to finish 3rd and have a chance of Champions League football next season while Catania were in position to finish at least in a UEFA Cup spot, and considering their aim was to avoid relegation, that's not bad at all.

Getting back on subject, 28 players named for a friendly, like WTF?
