21.3 W Summers to Evett
Slight movement away from him and a thin edge is taken by Armstrong, tumbling away to his right.

2-19 off 5.5 for him so far. They're on 75-6 so the end is near.

Woot. 3 wins from 3 for the season! Made a bit of a meal of it but a right clobbering in the end (as it should've been on a GFI, of course). May regret what looks to have been a slightly unnecessary GFI, but sod it, I'm still top (unless Spurs Magic get a silly NRR, which they might well do). Aces.

And that's the end of the match. Beard XI won by 6 wickets.
Sportal XI 123-10 (40.1 overs)
Beard XI 126-4 (29.4 overs)

Don't half have some soft spots in my middle order, though. Needs some looking at.

Say, does GFI affect the reporter's ratings? If not, I just got my first real competent seam rating. First competent anything, for that matter. :D

Yea TIE/PAN/GFI affects the ratings. Tynan took his first wicket for Scaly Piscine CC, he has 4-0-9-1, Summers 8-3-19-2. 87-7.

GFI generally improves ratings about half a level or so across the board (despite what Nightowl and Allan say), so you might see some increases. Although if you've been winning your ratings will improve due to morale anyway.

And that's the end of the match. Scaly Piscine CC won by 158 runs.

Just checked again - Reed and Sandwith are both doing their jobs admirably!

182/3 off 33 overs, RR=5.52, RRR=5.12 (chasing 268/10)
Sandwith 50 from 43
Reed 80 from 93 (having faced the good bowlers)

Could be yet another grandstand finish for my lot.

Yea, need 48 off the last 10, 8 wickets remaining with his best bowlers coming back presumably.

Indeed.

Reed's just got his ton, from 112 balls. Sandwith on 75 from 67. 221/2 at the start of the slog overs, RRR 4.80.

Singh back on now, with some seriously good spin bowling. Two more rubbish overs from the othe end, then Frederics is back to try and blast out the tail...

252/2 after 44 overs.

36 balls left, 17 runs for the win. Should be a formality now :)

Sandwith on 91 (80 balls). Can he get his hundred?

One thing I've realised recently is that I very rarely change my batting order, and seldom make more than the odd tweak to the bowling. I do, however, change the individual orders all the time. Ho hum, it seems to work.

UPDATE: Bugger. The very next ball, Sandwith gets clean bowled. Hopefully I won't see too big a BT collapse here...

Oh dear, 259 for 6...and counting. Reed gone, it's not looking good.

EDIT: 260/7, I can't watch...

263/8. :(

263/9.

263 all out.

That's a horrible horrible way to lose.....252/2 to 263 all out. Ouch.

F***sticks!

Hayward goes down...NOOOO! Verma goes first ball, then Singh gets Reed on the next, and Gonasilan two balls later.

Hirst and Brooker in, and they're ferrets. Gibb at no.11, and he's more of a rabbit. 263/7...just six runs needed now...

BUGGER! ********* **** *** *** ****** ******!

A Fredericks hattrick leaves me 263 all out.

Next time I see Allan, I'm going to punch the smug Scottish b*stard.

I was just about to book the open-top bus, as it happens.

Oh well, I suppose that's what happens when Woeful batsmen come up against Exquisite (or thereabouts) bowlers.

Nah, that's what happens during a collapse. Look at what happened in my game, there wasn't an ongoing collapse (by BT standards at least, just a steady flow of wickets), it wasn't last 10 and everyone sort of hung around a little and that's with Summers bowling a lot of the time.

Looking at the ratings, I may have been GFIed:

Code:
                Sherwood CCC Withington Wonderers
Top Order Remarkable 12 Superb 10
Middle Order Proficient 8 Proficient 8
Lower Order Abysmal 2 Abysmal 2
Seam Bowling Remarkable 12 Quality 11
Spin Bowling Superb 10 Exceptional 14
Fielding Mediocre 5 Feeble 4
Sherwood's top order, middle order, seam bowling and fielding all a level higher than usual. It could just be the effect of morale and fitness, but I'm not sure.

Death bowlers:

Singh - RF (oops - thought he was a spinner) Indian NT, BTR 168k, wages £46.7k
Fredericks - LFM, BTR 95k, wages £37.7k

I can understand the collapse, but I'm still miffed.
