All i want to know is why white is not bowling when clarke and symonds are bowling in tandem. White can't be worse than clarke can he?

Symonds is definitely the most reliable of the three IMO. Uses his experience pretty well bowling his offies. Nevertheless, I'd like to see if White gets anything. The other two are definitely turning the ball, and he can always be replaced if he gets belted.
Symonds is only the most reliable because he has had the most opportunities IMO. If Clarke bowled with the regularity of Symonds, I'm sure his bowling would be as good if not better. The fact that Symonds has this experience makes him more likely to get a bowl though which has just continued the cycle. Clarke's back injuries didn't help either.

Yeah, I think he can be, and is. And you have regularly accused me of being a "fan of the Bear."

Why so emotive about this? Firstly, I'm not suggesting dropping him from the tests, so we can forget about your "both forms of the game" comment.

Secondly, I will disregard great innings in ODIs if they're a couple of years ago, because they bear no relevance to what he's doing in the here and now. Otherwise we might as well recall Rodney Redmond.

He's been out of form (until today) and I think his presence has been to the detriment of the Australian side. But they still keep on winning.
It's probably more to do with my age than anything else. Maybe I'm going through a mid-life crisis or something but I'm sick of great players being down-trodden and disrespected. I mean, even Tendulakar's getting it now. That's enough....I just made myself feel really old. :(

Hard to be out LBW when it doesn't even hit the batsman's leg.

Clarke has bowled well though.

White is quite capable of being a handful on a turning wicket though. I'd rather either of the others on a wicket with no turn.

Anyway, it looks like Vincent actually hit that rather than being hit on the pads. Weird decision.

Who is disrespecting him, though? Hayden's a fine test batsman and served the ODI team well, but it was time to pick someone else rather than recalling him. Watson was obviously the incumbent opener, but with him injured they should have gone for a younger option who could have filled a role in the team for an extended period like Jaques, or a middle order bat with some success at the top like Clarke.

I'm a big fan of Darren Lehmann too, but I don't think he should be brought back into the ODI team.

Wonderful fielding there.

Oram and Taylor need to bat the next 13 overs, we need to still have McCullum waiting to bat at the 40-over mark.

Surely 90-10 in Australia's favour though.

Macca out - that extra weight just slows him down  . Good fielding, why oh why didn't New Zealand put their hand in their pocket and keep Mike Young on as fielding coach instead of that Baseball chap
