Pitches like this and the ones with the run - mountains ,both are not suitable for test cricket . A good pitch is the one which gives support to every aspect of the game through out the 5 days .
A traditional good pitch in my opinion is the one which is a little bouncy in the morning session and gives enough to the fasties and the post-lunch session should be helpful for the middle-order to consolidate and the pitch should start turning after day 3 .. Thats what I call a good pitch . It's not like, these pitches are not so common .

I can't believe Sami keeps getting selected in tests despite showing no signs of improvement. It sends a clear message that averaging over 45 with the ball is fine if you can bowl one at 145km/h every six overs. I really think he'd be a much better right now if he had been dropped earlier in his career. He has no real incentive to figure out what is wrong with his bowling and fix it at lower levels because he gets selected for Pakistan regardless.
They've continued to select him to show him confidence in him and give him faith, but I think it has been a detriment to his career. Dropping him until he had improved his game at domestic level would have done him the world of good.

Good win for the Saffies. Showing some steel at the end of the series, once again in what's been an interesting home season for them. TBF, this wicket wasn't the greatest, and was hard to bat on, but I don't think it was excessively dangerous or comparable to Mumbai '04.
