In other news Milan Baros joins Lyon and in treturn Aston Villa get probably one of the few footballers who are as tall (if not taller?) then Peter Crouch in John Carew. Good move or not?
As i understood it he was supposed to have a load of potential but i've not really heard much of him the last couple of years.

Sadly not, they don't show League 1 down here. A travesty I know.

Oh I thought they would seems as they showed Cov-Plym yesterday. I assumed they just showed all Sky Sports games.

Been playing well for Lyon. Big, strong centre forward, really (his technique is good for a Norwegian, which means some notches below Crouch), and English football should suit him. Not sure the Villa fans should demand goals, though.

Think you're being extremely harsh on Evra; Eboue & Fabregas had to play an absolutely fantastic one-two for Emmanuel to get half-a-yard of space for the cross. Only mistake he made was following the ball rather than the man. Vidic was more at fault; should've been far tighter on Henry (not renowned as a header of the ball).
Still at the end of it all I reckon a 'keeper of VDS's size should have made a much better attempt than he did.

Still, he's been good for us so far so overall I'm not complaining.

Looked like some pretty dire Blackburn defending for the goals tbh.
We got done by the long ball, no excuses because they is quite a few teams in the Premiership who still employ that style of play yet for one reason or another they couldn't handle it last night. Doesn’t help when you have hardly any recognised defenders around but still to lose to Watford is ****ing embarrassing.

I thought they started showing lower league games down there recently. Or is that just the Championship? I remember Fuller mentioning that he finally got to watch an Ipswich game around October time.

What a real tragedy it is for football that that bastion of the Corinthian spirit, Sir Robert Savage, is afflicted with a broken leg. The beautiful game won't be the same without the master gracing its playing fields. I'm sure all genuine football fans will join with me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

8-)
TBF to Robbie I can't remember him inflicting many broken legs on his opponents, his dirty and more importantly **** but compared to Aaron Mokoena his pretty darn effective. Tells you everything that his loss will be greatly missed.

Personally I have no problem with Savage.

Anyway it's good to see Arse not having a good time of it (when I last checked anyway).

Clearly buying a defender named "Samba" and expecting him to be a solid English defender was a mistake. ;)

One of the best games of the season so far?

This Arsenal side are going to be frighteningly good in two or three years time.

Fantastic game, I really enjoyed it. Lennon delivering so many couldn't-be-more-perfect crosses just to see nobody close connecting was a shame, though. Too good for his teammates.

Paul Robinson’s had a shocking season thus far. Does not seem to be a game that goes by where he isn’t at fault for at least one of the oppositions goals (away to Newcastle he was at fault for all three). God knows what he was thinking tonight, shocking piece of judgement or lack of. Good job for him their isn’t a plethora of decent English goalies around…

Wouldn't say that. Carson, Kirkland and Foster are all at least decent.

Premiership and Championship on foxsports. ESPN give you La Liga and Serie A and come June/July/August we can see aussie's mate David Beckham run around for LA Galaxy with some massive pay cheques in tow.

Is Ben Alnwick any good? I saw him play when they got done 3-1 by Arsenal at Highbury last season but it has been a while. While Dimitar Berbatov has looked like a good signing with his regular goals.

While it turns out the Chicago Fire of MLS fame tried to get Zinedine Zidane out of retirement and ex-Man City midfielder Claudio Reyna has joined the New York Red Bulls. The MLS the new Qatar/Saudi Arabia of retirement home for past-it players?
