Yeah, he's not. The fact is that Watson needs to bat in the top 4 or 5. Assuming he's in the team, the other middle order batsmen would all be better suited to batting around 6 or 7 than he would be. If Watson comes in for White, Hussey will probably move back down to 7 with Watson going up to the middle order, and if he comes in for Hayden he will open. I think 4 is the ideal spot in the long term, but certainly it's better that Watson get a reasonable run opening the innings than sticking him back at 7 where he was more or less hopeless.I don't see how Haddin's more of a natural opener than Watson.
Howard, please explain to me how he is.
I thought the heading gave it away
Umm, not to burst your bubble or anything, but some of us aren't on here 24 hours a day, so if there's some sort of in-joke going on, there's no need to be precious. That post bearing Voltman's name clearly wasn't his usual writing style so pardon me for being curious.Sigh...
I give up.
I believe that a settled team and batting order in which each player clearly knows his role will solve our woes. I also believe that making fringe players fight and work hard for their Black Cap will benefit the team better in the long run than giving any and all Johnny-come-lately's a run just to see if they might be good.
He was making a parody of pup11's posts.Umm, not to burst your bubble or anything, but some of us aren't on here 24 hours a day, so if there's some sort of in-joke going on, there's no need to be precious. As for the reference to Bob Holland a quick search reveals he's an ex-spinner, so what? Still doesn't explain the un-Voltman like post.
Check the post immediately above this one of yours I've just quoted. It will give you a hint about who I might be extracting the urine from.Umm, not to burst your bubble or anything, but some of us aren't on here 24 hours a day, so if there's some sort of in-joke going on, there's no need to be precious. Yeah, that's more or less what I mean. And strengthening the middle to lower order to cover for blatant deficiencies in the top order is bloody ridiculous!
Ooooooh, right. Not immediately obvious for two reasons: firstly there were three posts between yours and his. Secondly, I don't bother reading more than a few words of pup's posts because.... well, the reason is obvious. I did read yours though, as they are usually quality.Check the post immediately above this one of yours I've just quoted. It will give you a hint about who I might be extracting the urine from.
And no need to get overly precious about me getting precious.
Typical Wellingtonian...
Born in Auckland, actually. And I wish to stress the usually, you inbred southerner
You should have kept that to yourselfBorn in Auckland, actually
Yep, ideally Watson should be at 4. It's where he's going to most useful as a batsmen, and without the extra responsibility of opening, it should allow his bowling to prosper in the long-term.Yeah, he's not. Haddin won't get picked as a specialist bat while he's still keeping for NSW though, so it's largely a moot point.

Would need a bit of a turnaround from his last few innings.nah NZ will get up... Fleming, Taylor & Oram to be the Stars
I think that's the most depressing post I've read in this entire thread.Atleast the rugby season is starting soon
yeah he would... and tbh i hope he does... Fleming's a champ, favourite NZ player just not when he's playing austWould need a bit of a turnaround from his last few innings.
Hahahahey guys how many of u think the aussie selectors shud bring back holland to replace warnie he was an underrrrated bowler when he first played for australia and there arent many young spinners coming through he could provide the variation aussie need what do you guys think?
