How do you rate Thierry Henry aka Chief Poseur as he is known in Durham ?

I'd be interested to know who the 2 who haven't voted for the top option would rate as better than him in Premiership history (especially seeing as it needs to be a fair few people in order to justify themselves not voting for the top option)

So Roseboy and Chaminda, lets hear it...

He ain't fit to lace Chris Greenacre's boots

This thread is clearly designed to incite Scaly tbh.

If I kept getting chances I'd score eventually, what was his overall record against teams that matter again? Oh that's right, crap + 1/500.
Remember that article i posted which you claimed you'd read?

Well that proved that actually his record against the big teams in the Prem isn't actually as bad as you make out.

second best premiership striker after Ruud for me, second best striker in the world currently after Eto'o.

The one that had a hand-picked small sample during his peak and yet still only managed to show him scoring 1 in 2 games? Wow. He has been the focus of every CDMs attack over the years so he gets more opportunities than any other forward in the Premiership and that's the best he can do? What about the cup games where his record is awful, or in Europe and internationally where his record is average?

As far as forwards in the Premiership go I'd easily rank Shearer and Van Nistelrooy ahead of him, I would also rank Cantona (hardly ever scored any good goals but didn't go missing against good teams either) and Owen ahead of him and that's just off the top of my head. There would be many midfielders, defenders and keepers ahead of him obviously.

Scaly, go be an angry man somewhere else and I suggest you look up what a 'fact' actually means before you put forward your ill-found opinion as a statement of fact.
Yeah, I wish scaly hated Mohammed Asif as much as he did Thierry Henry.. I need a hand in CC!

I usually have something about Cheatistan or drugs cheats in my MSN 'personal message'. I'll be there to rub it in tho if Pakistan lose despite their cheats.

Henry > Ruud.

For Marc - Cantona > Henry.
Ruud 51 goals in 64 games in Europe, 17 goals in 19 domestic cup games, better than a goal every two games for the Netherlands.

Chief poseur 42 goals in 82 games in Europe, 10 goals in 41 domestic cup games, nowhere near a goal every two games for one of the best international sides of the past decade.

Pretty comprehensive to anyone who sees past all the front and bull, posing for the cameras etc.

Yes, but Ruud didn't set up very many. As an out-and-out goalscorer, Ruud > Henry, obviously. However, IMO, overall, Henry > Ruud.

Of course he takes lots of free kicks and corners as well as being the focus point for virtually every CDMs attack so chief is bound to get a relatively large number of assists, but given the assists on wikipedia for league games and the assists Ruud would get even tho that's not his game, chief poseur would still be nowhere near Ruud if you added these in.

If what Wiki says is true then fair enough (though I'm not sure how far you can trust it, considering I could post anything I wanted on there).

As has been stated before, van Nistelrooy, Shearer, Cole and of course Cantona. If you're including other players not just forwards there's Schmeichel.
