Interesting innings from Loye. Not sure how far he'll get in the long run playing like that, but he's definitely worth a run in the team for the rest of the series to see how he goes. Obviously a better hitter than anyone else in the England top order, and could get them away to a flyer or two in the WC if he comes off. The rest of the order with Pietersen in there is definitely good enough to capitalise. Strauss to miss out, if Vaughan comes back?

He did actually play some pretty good cricket shots too, along with the premeditated slogs.

Why didn't he get picked earlier when he probably deserved to, instead of some of the crap they have picked in the past.

As I type what a catch by Hodge! So unlucky Strauss!

2/56 and England are in the mire already.

Was thinking what would happen if Hodge got a good score today?

Strauss seems to have a habit of being unlucky, but then I guess you make your own luck.

Johnson on.

It's important that England remain reasonably positive here, at least while they are only two down. Consolidating for a bit is fine, but 250 is not going to be enough on this wicket, and getting to the 30 over mark at 3/120 from here just won't be good enough. The way they've batted in both matches so far won't get them much past that.
