The prodigal son has returned (overweight and crocked, just as we sold him) but it’s nice to have Dunny back. Desperately needed someone in the midfield with an ounce of creativity and at least he can take a pen.

Watching Newcastle is always hilarious, but this game is extra-special.

Newcastle are completely dire, 2-0 down and get a goal from nowhere and it's 2-1 and the crowd and stuff are giving it their usual cheers and roars. Then seconds later they faff about, last defender trips someone over and he's sent off and Birmingham score from the free kick. Funny as hell.

Oh and I think you'd find I'd be nothing like most managers in the game because I'd be infinitely smarter than they are.

So who's going to replace him and where there talk about his future bbefore the lost to Bristol City in the FA Cup and the loss sealed his fate?
There's been talk for a few weeks - and at lease by him going now there's some of the transfer window left to buy some defenders (getting rid of 2 of our 4 centre halves when 1 of the others is injured then replacing them with a striker when we have 5 or 6 of those wasn't the smartest move IMO)

Eric Black been mentioned on the radio today - would love that personally.

Gary McAllister is another name I've heard.

I would have thought that one of the leading channels for news in the UK would at least avoid tabloid reports without quotations.

Am I right in thinking they've both had the job before?

Yes, they have actually - Black managed to get the sack the week after we won 6-1 at Gillingham, McAllister resigned because of his wife's cancer...

In one of the papers today someone pointed out the irony of the man who sold McSheffrey sacking his manager on the very same day that McSheffrey scores for Brum.

Anyway Lauren has joined Portsmouth on an undisclosed fee, a good move for them while West Ham have signed former Coventry and (now) Tottenham defender Calum Davenport. West Ham are still interested in Lucas Neill apparently, but will have to face opposition from Liverpool. Liverpool really could do with Neill and get rid of Sami Hyypia.

Pompey clearly buying Arsenal piece by piece. Expect Sammy Nelson & Willie Young to be unveiled soon.

I read in The Guardian today Neill to yer Scousers was no-go now; he'd asked for way too much money. Also said Blackburn would sooner let he go on a free in the summer than let him go without a replacement. Link.

To be fair, the price for McSheffrey was more than he was worth - problem is Adams had that money but wasted it in all honesty.

Pompey sign Lauren from Arsenal. :D

Hell of a lot better signing than Djimi Traore. Can't wait to see him when I (hopefully) get down to Fratton Park on Saturday. :)
