Looks like Joey Barton maybe leaving Man City, could do better than Everton but there's not many opitions open for Barton currently other than the Boro. :ph34r:

Also some European football news- German international Sebastian Deisler calls it quits at 27, terrible injuries the guy has had but in pomp his was one of the finest talents in European football (think David Beckham with pace). Real shame.

As usual you're not getting it. Still keep hold of your own ideas that the best 11 individuals make the best team regardless of anything else.

Downing doesn't add anything to the team. Destroyed a dire Greek right back and then has been frankly average.

Rooney has been nowhere near his form of Portugal 2004. Neville has been a solid but unnoticeable job (as he's a non goal scoring RB) for a decade and Owen has been alright but has been injured for the last 6 months.

Meanwhite in Italy, Livorno chief Aldo Spinelli who sacked manager Daniele Arrigoni after losing 5-1 on the weekend but reinstated a few days later. If I were Arrigoni I would have told Spinelli to go take a dip in a lake with a 10kg weight tied on.

Mighty whites back to winning ways last night, despite being Greenacreless for the mostpart. Still haven't made my mind up as to whther my early season optimism was completly unfounded or whether what I said in my last (I think) post in this thread was more accurate. Time shall tell.

Rooney out of form is still an excellent player - and he's only been out of form for around 5 months IMO. For a defender, being unnoticable is a very good thing.

And then he's created more chances when he's got the ball since (which isn't very often because of the nature of being a *proper* winger who doesn't repeatedly drift infield at the expense of the team) which England have mostly fluffed. But of course you lot being incapable of properly judging players wouldn't have a clue, same as the vegetable and most of the other armchair 'experts' unfortunately. This is why England are crap, the team is practically chosen by nilwit joe public and mainly by the nilwit media because the vegetable and McClaren are so soft.

I look at things objectively, most people don't evaluate performance well at all. For instance according to the average peasant a striker is playing well if he fluffs 3-4 chances, a midfielder is playing well if he's involved in the play a lot (thus meaning someone like Roy Keane was automatically 'brilliant' every single game he ever played in), a defender is playing well if he's there to clear the ball a few times (doesn't matter if they're in the wrong position or isn't marking properly). All is forgiven if someone plays rank and then hits the crossbar or something (see Gerrard in one of the last international games). The media and pundits are similarly bad and then reinforce these bad perceptions.
