Yeh bit weird he hadn't snuck into 4day before today.

Harwood on fire, tbh.

"On fire" seems to be the verb phrase of the day.

Don't know... just hoping like hell he scores some 2nd Innings runs, and finds some sort of form again!

yeah you get that feeling. Despite the fact taht Jaques is in a bad run of form, barring Rogers, he ****s all over the competition for the batting spot left open by JL.

I read where Katich is seeking a meeting with the selectors to guage whether he's any chance of playing Test cricket again. I think, if he wants to pull on the Baggygreen again, he should move to opener. Like Langer, he's got the game for it and, with Ponting, Clark and Hussey locking down positions 3-5 in the forseeable future, it's probably his only chance (particularly given Hayden's age also) of representing again.

I'd not be entirely disappointed if (when) Jaques gets the spot, but I just reckon form should be considered just a little.

Form early next Summer is likely to be more relevant, given that we don't play again until November. If Jacques can produce a couple of decent scores in October, his recent hiccups will be overlooked.

Yeah, not to mention that there's a whole English summer to come. Current form has no real relevance to the team selected next year, unless it's test form.

Just had a look at the FR & PC tables and somehow NSW still 4th in both forms. I thought we would be out of the running in both comps by now.

Vics 4/68 at stumps, still in with a chance of 1st Inns.We really need to find some new batsmen though.

What's happened to Moises?

Still injured?
Yep should be back within a month from last report. We really should be playing an extra batsmen over Lambert, Thornley is only slightly behind him as bowling option.

Vics rolled for 129, nice to see Nicholson, Bollinger and MacGill in the wickets. Anyone know why the Vics played a 34 yo spin bowling all rounder over Holland. Seems like a bit of strange move considering White might be out for the rest of the season on International duty.

He's not really an all-rounder. Just sent in as nightwatchman.

McGain picked over Holland probably because of concern over the other aspects of Holland's game, and they'd see McGain as a lesser gamble, having played FC cricket before. Funnily enough, Holland used to play at Prahran till last season, when he moved to Carlton to get a game in the 1sts. Think he might've taken more wickets than McGain for the season too (albeit McGain had a foot injury that kept him out for about 6 games).
