Uphill task for Pakistan. I wouldn't be surprised if South Africa win this match by the end of the day or are in a near win position.

Seriously, get rid of Faisal Iqbal ...

On another note, the activity in this thread is dire compared to the IND-SA thread. We had four guys giving their own analyses of every dot ball bowled in that thread. :)

Thats the end of that. I cant believe its happening again!!!!!
The problem with Pakistan specifically is that their batsmen play far too many shots, particularly cross batted on wickets with more bounce which works in the sub continent but not else where.

The Indians and Sri Lankans have had collapses abroad as well of course but the amount of unnecessary shots the Pakistanis play always is more than India and Sri Lanka. The flare part of the batting is some thing which has always been there, cannot be eliminated and is not necessarily a bad thing. What I would work upon would be more patience from the batsmen on aspects like shot selection, building an inning and the works - easier said than done though.

This wicket is so good for batting. The consistent bounce at a good height should have meant a lot of runs for the batsmen on both teams. This was a draw wicket really and while Pakistan has a lot of thinking to be done, South Africa should also consider giving serious thought to getting more output from the batsmen (who have not been that good in recent times as a unit).

Good wicket but SA have bowled well today - even Harris, who I thought was a real trundler, tied Inzy up in knots for a while

The Pakistanis, on the other hand, have played like millionaires and look like ending up on skid row

No complains about.the South African bowling. Kept fighting and bowling a disciplined line even though the pitch didn't support the bowlers. The Pakistanis were dire in the first inning a lot. I am not quite sure what your second statement about millionaires and all means..

Even now seeing the tail enders hit cross batted shots against Nel and Ntini in the middle of the bat just shows the top order should have scored more.

An australian expression I think - means that they are playing as though they dont have a worry in the world when, in fact, theyre in a dire situation and should be putting more value on their wickets

annoys me, as an australian, to hear the criticism we cop when others are far worse

What was it?

I'd think the South Africans would be the last players to make racial remarks.

A lot of runs here by the tail enders. On a normal deteriorating test pitch, it could mean making a match of it. However, I reckon that here, the pitch being so good, it is a case of too little too late.

Anyone who can watch this match but isn`t, change to it. You`re about to witness Andre Nel - the first human being ever to explode!

Haha awkward run chase for SA coming up. If Asif and Kaneria can unleash, who knows what could happen?

Pollock should have taken that one.

I heard Jackman say something like "I hope that was a member of the crowd saying what stumpmike just picked up" but missed the actual comment. It hasn't been repeated for the obvious reason.
