***Official*** Pakistan in South Africa

Oh and honestly, if I ever hear SA fans have a crack at Prince again I'd be very surprised. Batted like an absolute gun this past two years, and until now has gone unnoticed. Copped a lot of crap throughout his career and has been better for it. Really gritty batsman.

Decent day's cricket by the sounds of things today. Pretty much level now, and with big runs possible on tomorrow. Pakistana need to get Khan and Inzy tomorrow, and if they do Pakistan are finished IMO, however well Asif can bowl.

Pakistan needs to score 300 runs tommorow in order to have a decent crack at winning this.

My prediction is that Pakistan will fold for the addition of about two hundred runs, with SA chasing that in a fashion similiar to the third test against India.

He has done well over the past 2 years. Certainly better than I thought he was capable of.

Though to put any accolades in perspective, he has scored the same number of runs as Paul Collingwood in that period with Prince playing 1 extra test match. A man that their is limited praise for.

I doff my hat to what he has done and give him credit for his achievements.

Personally, I dont think he will be able to continue it, but I could certainly be proved wrong and I hope he continues to do so.

Prince has scored runs in situations where the team needed it more IMO, but that's debateable because a few of Collingwood's knocks (1st test vs. India, 2nd test vs. Aus) were very very good.

I have much more confidence with Prince at the crease on a various type of wickets compared to Collingwood, who needs a slow track.

But he has also played on different wickets. And as witnessed against test series in India, and now Pakistan, he has been a better batsman than Kallis during the period. Stands up and stablizes the entire lineup, which counts for more than just his average.

Now Im willing to state that Prince has done better than I thought he would and that he deserves credit, but to say he has been better than Kallis over the past 2 years is taking it too far.

No no, obviously Kallis is more important due to his experience and his bowling. I am not arguing that point. I am saying, with the bat, he has helped out South Africa just as much, if not more than Kallis.

They average about the same in the last 15 matches, but if you look at when they've both made runs, Prince has stood up in just as tough, if not tougher situations overall. That's all.

Completely reminds me of Collingwood in the way the shots he basis he game around.Virtually no follow through and punches and nurdles but is mighty effective.Much better defence than Collingwood IMO as you had to look at him v Clark in the Ashes. He looked like getting out every ball.Prince is the same as you feel with his limitations that bowlers are going to find a way to get him out but fair play to him he looks like SA's best batsmen at the moment.

Good fight back by Pakistan but South Africa’s post lunch capitulation could cost them dear. The wicket is now beginning to play some games, invariable bounce is evident and the spin threat of Kaneria will definitely be far more taxing than Anil on that 5th day Cape Town wicket.

Ashwell Prince’s waltz down the wicket may have shown good positive intent but it was three minutes before lunch and he was batting with a guy whose not hit a century in over two years. Hindsight’s a wonderful thing but Prince’s expression and disgust after he was stumped pretty much summed up what a **** up he made. Pakistan were on their knees and just an hour of Prince and Gibbs after lunch would have surely secured the game.

As it stands now, Pakistan are effectively 0-2 but if they can manger a lead of around 200, with Asif and Kaneria that could be more than a competitive total.

Though WTF was with the umpires today? Is the LBW rule no longer a part of the game? Prince was dead, Ntini was gone at least three times, twice in one delivery to Kaneria for either plumb LBW or subsequently caught bat pad and then Younis Khan to Harris, where regardless of the stride it was the arm ball and it nigh rolled across the turf, shocking umpiring.

Yes,have to agree with that umpires weren't going to give anything today and I thought spinners got more wickets when batsmen play on the front foot nowadays. The Younis one was absolutely stone dead no matter how big a stride he got as it struck him so low on the pad.Harris the left arm spinner looks a really good bowler who puts a lot of revs on the ball because of his energetic follow through.Gilo could learn from him.

There should be a retirement age for umpires tbh !! One of the worst decisions I have ever witnessed in any test match !!!!!!!!

Huge wicket gone. Damn, Younis needed to stay there longer than that. Well at least with Farhat Pak still have that lefty/righty combination going.
