Copenhagen struck lucky more than anything, due to our utetr ineptness away, Celtic defended very stoutly at their place and took their chance, with a goal that deserved to win any match.
With rocks at the back such as Bob Balde, Gary Caldwell and Roberto Carlos aka Lee Naylor at left back, what else do you expect?

Miller is a good player.

Arse and the Scousers are not exactly setting the world alight, hence the comment.
We've become the anti-flat track bullies: we've won at Old Tartford, beaten the Spuds 3-0, drawn at Stamford Badge & dicked Liverpool three times now (including twice at their place where they hadn't lost in an age). We're just poo against the chaff.

Say what you like about the SPL, but usually you get more competition there then what you get in France with Ligue 1, where no matter who they sell you can pencil in Lyon for the title and have a more fun placing bets for second spot.

That doesn't detract from the standard of football though, there's probably competition in the Pakistan Premier League. Le Championnat is infinitely superior and Lyon are one of the finest sides in Europe, Celtic, Rangers and Hearts are nowhere near.

I dunno, I think Celtic could beat Lyon 9/10 times at home. The overall standard of football in France is indeed higher than in Scotland, but Celtic are a superclub in the world and are only improving more and more every year. I see a lot more of their games than most people here, I'm sure of that much - they're easily capable of beating any team at home. Away games in Europe has been their major problem over recent history, but they're getting there. And if they keep winning at home well enough and get the odd draw or narrow loss away, they have a chance of going pretty far in the CL. None of us will know just how far they've gone until we see how well they do against AC Milan.

I would love to agree but signings such as Paul Telfer, Dion Dublin don’t help much and if they aren’t signing the definition of finished they are buying overpriced foreigners who no one wants. The club has gone down hill rapidly since Martin O’Neill left, say what you will about his style of play but they did have a couple of extremely talented players. Jiří Jarošík, Japanese fellow who was even to slow for Serie A and Thomas Gravesen aside, you look through Celtic's squad and all you see is pretty much middle of the road mediocrity.

Holy crap @ Beckham's wage of just under £500k a week at LA Galaxy

Absolutely obscene money for a guy who can kick the ball with one foot reasonably well if you give him all day.

I might just go watch and MLS game now just to see Beckham, even though Soccer doesn't have me interested

£2976 per hour.

He has a five year contract and I think we can safely say he will not be playing for England again.

How are MLS affording this? £500k a week is insane if it's true.

It appears MLS (or LA Galaxy) are only paying £100k a week directly. Another £100k a week is "share of club profits" which he'll presumably bring in due to his name. The remainder is sponsorship stuff.

So not quite as outrageous.

Oh, and most amusing so far: an expert on Swedish TV4 claimed "This is not a step down for Beckham, rather it's an honourable goodbye from football. Beckham does not deserve to step down." Come on, the MLS is on a par with the Eredivisie...
